After Glow
I wish there is an after glow
For all the world to see
When I am dead and buried and
That’s all that’s left of me.
I hope it is a lovely light
That lasts for quite a while.
May all of those who see it think
Of times I made them smile.
May they always be reminded
Of times we laughed and cried
And may they know without a doubt
I’m always by their side.
Yes, I wish those that look upon
This warm and gentle light
Have peace throughout all of the day
And comfort through the night.
I hope I’ll always be remembered
When people see this glow.
I don’t want to be forgotten
’Cause that would hurt me so.
I hope this light, it is a sign
Of all good things I’ve done
Because Lord knows I did my best
To love, yes, everyone.
I wish there is an after glow
For all the world to see
When I am dead and buried and
That’s all that’s left of me.
