1. I was an accident of a month’s missed of birth control.
 1. I was not an accident.
 1. The first time I slept next to a man it was my father. He wiped my tears and cradled me until my newborn baby eyes closed peacefully. My father taught me what love was.
 1. I was brought up a Christian. Brought up with a sister. Brought up in an unbroken family. Brought up believing that God loves me. Brought up knowing that I was not an accident.
 1. We will be pushed to our breaking points. We will be woven into a quilt of humanity. We will be a glass coffee table shattered and forgotten by one night’s mistake. We are ever changing, remaking, taking, faking, and living in a painstaking place. We are forsaking, shaking, and quaking into the bodies we were meant to be.
 1. We are not accidents.
 1. We will be the product of our own mistakes. We are the stories of our flesh. We will be, “Welcome home Soldier,” and “See you when you get back.” But we will never come back; not the same. Because we are ever evolving, ever revolving, the ones that will ever call on the name of change.
 1. The first time I stopped dwelling on others reactions, interactions, judgments, and cruel tactics was the first time that I was able to live fully. It was the first time I realized that there are three sides to every story; your side, their side, and the truth. The truth in the matter-we are the matter-particles welded together-nine months made into positive creation. We are fueled by the eternal desire, the internal fire, that binds us all, us sacred people.
 1. We are not accidents.
 1. We are the “Congratulations? Is it a boy or a girl?” and the headlines on the newsstand that read “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
 1. I refuse to bow my head to you but I will kneel on my knees and pray to you. I will not curse this evil done to me but I will embrace the impact and find myself exactly where I should be. I will kneel on my scratched knees, on my scabbed skin, on my tattered flesh, on my broken bones for you. Dear God- Thank you.
 1. We are not accidents.

A VERY strong set of lines here. And, you're precise, we are not accidents. We are reasons. Excellent job!
