A Woman In the News

From her garage, with no delay, she started to back out one day, not seeing in her own driveway a child at play; a child at play. One moment cannot be rewound. She’d never heard a single sound but felt the impact; on the ground her son she found; her son she found. We should not judge her for the sake of mercy since her grave mistake must place on her - guilt hard to take, A lifelong ache, a lifelong ache. For the Monotetra Poetry Contest of Kim Merryman

Andrea that is my worst nightmare is someone backing over a kid. My daughter in law backed into their car and she knew it was there but just was not thinking. I could not image the lifetime of regret for one moment of error. Hits the heart this sad poem. love phyl

Hmm.. Another sad monotetra. Something going on here. Amazing poem! This stuff is impeccable! ~ The contest you were asking about was one for Christmas carols, only using the title of a well known song, and a Christmas theme. Kim Merryman was sponsor for that one also. She always has good contest ideas.

Hi Andrea; This is so sad, but things like this happen all the time. I once knew a mother that her baby boy drowned in the tub - while she went to answer the dood bell. He was one year old. Thanks for sharing..... Lucilla
