A Warm Kiss On the Bay
I took a hike through mangroves today
the salt laden air a sweet refrain
A great heron swooped in to spy
Then spread its impressive wings to fly
A gentle breeze brushed through my hair
as butterflies danced through balmy air
Mild is the night, steamy the day
Dawn is a warm kiss on the bay
In awe, I photographed an osprey nest
And stayed too long I must confess
Caressed by the beauty all around
The dance of land and sea life abound
A delicate ecosystem, I marveled in wonder
Mysteries of nature waiting to discover
Mild is the night, steamy the day
Dawn is a warm kiss on the bay
