A Special Letter Found Carta De Anais a Sus Tres Hijos

Visiting my father, I noticed the old garage could use a little fixing up. He had boxes stacked up, and clutter to the very top. We all started up and down that garage picking and cleaning, dusting and sweeping. Suddenly, a letter tucked in an envelope was found. I realized who it was from, It was from my late mom, I started reading! This surprise took over my whole being! My hands were trembling as the pages shook in my hands, and my eyes were seeing! This Letter was tucked away for us to see. Left by my mother in heaven, Anais. To my three sons, Michael Rene Enrique, Gaston Alfredo, Gustavo Alphonso Campitrous." "Dear Children today I'm going to tell you how lucky I feel in having three beautiful and special sons, like the ones I have. God gave me the best of the world and that is what you are for me." " During the hard times I always had a goal in life. I always had a point where I could base the reasons for my struggles, and never felt tired of working hard, because I knew deep down in my heart, that I was doing that for the sake of my children." " Always be yourself, no matter how much money or rank you have in life. Don't change your personality. Remember Jesus. He was God, he was a king. He had everything and he was humble and was a simple man. He was modest. He was admirable. I have the good luck of knowing you three love him. That is wonderful. "Never forget your parents. How they fought life to give you a good living." "It is very important you three have a perfect union remember, En la union esta la fuerza. (Translation), In unity there is strength. If you keep together you will get stronger. You brothers have to help each other, no matter what." " I will be dead my sons, but from where I am I will be watching you. Never separate from each other. Please remember me as a mother who loved you very, very much". " Michael and Gaston always protect your youngest brother Gustavo, because Gus is your baby brother. When you have your children teach them the values you learned from us. Always do good, help people every chance you have." "You will always be my babies. Ok my darlings, I hope you follow my directions. If you do that look at the sky, on a very clear day, from a remote white cloud, you will see me watching you. After I am gone." "God bless you my sons." Michael Tor

My mothers father Enrique owned Coffee, and Tobacco plantations, also Sugar plantations. He had two hundred employees. At that time he was worth 50 million dollars. Well that didnt last, the Communist took everything from him, and My fathers business was taken away from him also. My mom had everything she ever needed in Cuba before the revolution. Coming to America the only thing they had was the shirts on their back, and three little boys ages 6, 4, and an infant. God was good and so was the love of the American people. Just wanted to share what they went through to you Constance. God bless you Dear, your comment touched my heart...

This fine poem touched me deeply my friend. As the middle child of 13 children , only my father paid me any attention-my mother ignored me completely after about age 4. Reminded me of the long talk my father had with me as he laid in bed dying, I was only 15 then. Although words said were not exactly the same the messages were the same in both farewell gifts methinks. Dad died about two weeks later from his long battle with cancer..A7 AND A FAV..

Robert I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I am sure he was a wonderful caring dad. I know you were extremely close to him by your message. You were blessed to know a great man in your eyes. You were there for him in the end. What a good son you are. His memories live on in your heart and his words you will always carry. Someday my friend we will all be together again with our love ones. I want to thank you for sharing this personal and touching moment, I wonder how many other's had similar experiences they can share and write about. I am sorry to hear your mom hurt you in that way. Sometimes we have to reach deep inside and forgive the ones that have caused us pain, it is very difficult to do. Sometimes it is a struggle. I hope you and your mom had a better relationship. I know one thing for sure, your dad was there for you. God bless you and your lovely wife Robert...

Hi Michael: I was very touched by this poem. As the youngest of 6 children, I got to spend more time with my Mama and I learned so much from her Italian culture and how she struggled to give me the best directions in life. I can easily relate and maybe God left you a message when you found that letter. As my Colombian wife would say, "El amour viene a ti en much as direcciones."

Your wife is so right. I think you are right Ralph God wanted me to find that letter. I am glad you spend that special time with your mother and learn of your heritage and culture. Our mothers and fathers are so cherished. It hurts me to know that some of our fellow poets did not have a great experience with their one parent. My heart wishes all could be loved the way our Lord intended. Thank you Ralph for your heartfelt comments. Tell your wife I said God bless her.

Thank you Mark. Your words in your comment are so true my friend. It was very painful. I read the letter once a year on the day she left us. I can't read it any other time and have to brace myself when I do read it. There was more in the letter but I did not have enough words unless I had written another write. Thank you Mark for your kind words. I have to go over and check your latest works my friend been extremely busy practicing songs for a rock band I'm playing with and working besides.

Thank you Demetrios. My mother spoke French, English, Spanish, and Italian. She loved Greece. She use to tell me about how Greece had the most incredible language. She loved the history and the culture of Greece. She raised us to respect our grandparents and instilled in us a love for Christ. Her father was very wealthy in Cuba and we fled communism. They took all my families wealth. Part of the Bacardi empire was our family. They fled to Puerto Rico. We came here to the United States. My parents had to start all new again in a foreign country. Her father my grandfather was one of the wealthiest man in Cuba owning coffee, sugar, tobacco plantations. He had over two hundred workers that he provided housing jobs and food medical and food for them. She came from being wealthy to a life of humble work in America. She was a wonderful woman who helped the poor. Once in Cuba paying for a woman she didn't know who needed an operation she paid her entire bill. She had a heart of Gold.
