A Nation Born In A Day
Tribute to 15 May, 1948 – Israel’s Declaration of Independence
“7Before she goes into labor, she gives birth; before the pains come upon her, she delivers a son. 8 Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children." Isa 66:7-8 NIV
Even before she goes into labor
Before the pains begin
She gives birth and delivers
A nation born to reign
No sooner is Zion in labor
Than her children come forth
Peace and wealth promised
Brought to her hearth
The Messiah will save her
For the Lord is coming with fire
His chariots like a whirlwind
Provide such victory to admire
The Lord will execute judgment
Many wicked will be slain
The nations will view His glory
Israel’s given to fame
A nation born in a day
Is by God a miracle
Never to be repeated
Israel to earth the model
Born to glorify the Messiah
Unlike days in the past
Brings forth children of glory
Humble and steadfast.
