A Day In May

She smiled to hear the merry sound as Morris dancers pranced around; her foot now tapping to the drum, she felt so glad that she had come to see the Carnival of May and Maypole-dance her cares away! written 6th May for Andrea's May lay contest

Excellent meter, rhyme and painting of a happy scene in May, those lovely Maypole dancers. I love that you can punctuate and capitalize well. I would have given more top placements if poets were punctuating like this. Congrats for second place, Jack.

This is so well written, Jack and I felt I was there amongst the merrymakers myself. Your rhythm and rhyme were much appreciated.
