A Callie Cat Tanka

taken to the pound by folks who did not want her Callie Cat escaped. . . instinct had led her back to where tribulation trumped death sickly and skinny Callie Cat scraped by until a chance encounter. . . how sweet the day my daughter came home with a calico! the cat who once lived a natural life outside grew happy and plump. . . eighteen years she ruled our hearts - the indoor queen of our home

Our youngest was always bring pets home for the summer from school. No one to look after them for the summer so we had extra pets but thank goodness they did not stay and I think our dog was glad to see them go. love phyl

Very nice, Andrea. I'm glad there are people who are willing to take in strays and that your daughter found "Callie Cat." Congratulations on your win! Best wishes, Carolyn

Hi Andrea, Fantastic win. I too have had cats in my life so know how they bring love and companionship, particularly when living on one's own. My cat Casper,a grey and white fluff ball, is always here to greet me. A big Congrats xx Theresa xx

Congrats on this lovely poem Andrea! We've had numerous cats in the family. The latest addition is a year old (Smokey); the last one that died was nearly 18 years old. Never had a pure breed one, but all have been loving and cuddly. // paul

Oh Andrea, this poem is so sweet. I know first hand how much love a cat can bestow on loving owners, or I should say roommates, as no one ever really owns a cat! I had a Calico cat in my youth named Sugar. I can still see her sweet face.

How sweet! I loved this little verse; thanks for sharing. I had a sweet calico. She was a stray for a long time, though I suspect she had a home before, because she was just so friendly with us. Always, Laura

I'm happy about Callie. Outdoor cats don't do well at all. For instance, there is a stray cat - a huge gray male - who comes up on the porch to feed. His left eye looks as if it has been put out entirely. So much disease out there boot. I'm going to ask Bev if we can't try to catch the gray and take it to the vet. Love, daver
