2nd place in the contest

Immutable they shine On protective wings hovering angels in a sparkling shower The brightness streams unlimited without a sound Man needs strength, hope and courage Even with all wisdom, power and earthly eloquence Our doubting world where evil crosses the threshold Don't forget the star of the east in a barren place The essence of all that ever was is and remains unchanged Receive the ebony keys to the door of love

Sparkling showers, i love them: always exciting to catch them. I love the imagery in this and your use of colors to paint imagery in such a soulful manner dear anne lise. Ebony keys to the doors of love is a brilliant line to end this with. Pleasure always reading you: sending you light always

Quite a spiritual verse Anne-Lise, we should strive for goodness in our world because evil is everywhere. Good luck in the contest. Tom

I won't put my trust in a moving star but in the One who made the cosmos and all that fills it. Love those last two lines

- The story of the "star" is nice to think about ... regardless of mobility ... what one believes or not is irrelevant in this poem, Tom :) - Many thanks for your comment :) - hugs
