Toll and Tally Taken On Valley
Toll and Tally Taken On Valley

What Trump did was to dilly dally,
When he had been at the big rally;
Those supported,
Were all shorted;
Tossed trash took its toll and tally.

Alphabet Soup
I make my checklist
And begin

Words and lyrics don’t blend but
Numbers
Concise, not deris{ive}
Begun thinking again. Stop.
Classical music; diction-less connotation.

The history bar grows longer but the checklist never shorted
The train is going in circles and
my mind is a bowl of alphabet soup....

When will it happen that
in an assemblage of
two or three computers,
in a house wired badly
by a drunken electrician
twenty years before, a
steady wave pulse emerges
between the dishwasher,
and the espresso machine
and connects to the shorted
out garage door opener that

Each day I'm growing shorter
And I was not ever tall.
Perhaps instead of dying
I'll just shrink to none at all.

Is that an oxymoron?
How can anyone grow short?
But that's what he said I'm doing
On my last doctor's report.

So if you find me missing,
I'm not anywhere about,
Don't think I have deleted,
I've just shorted myself out.

The Black Hand.
Woke early morning hand gone dark,
Pitch black soaked through.
Picked up phone to check messages and battery died,
Flipped on light and bulb shorted out,
Put on shirt and tore a hole,
Tied shoes only to break the laces,
Closed the door and broke a window,
Caught the bus but the engine broke,
Found a cab but the tire was flat,
Cursed the sky and the sun went out....
