Remember the horror of AIDS in the '80's
    And all those who've died from COVID, of course

  My doctor, God bless him, still worries about both
    The sign on his door ~ Mask or AIDS

To kneel by my bed,
My guardian angel came

Mild dystopian cracks open 
cobwebbed laden figurative door 
to my super charged

Like Masquerades, 
We hide. 
Our faces. 
Our truths. 
Nothing is real, 
Not even you. 
The masks we wear, 
They’re facades we play. 
They are not us. 

You aren’t sorry, 
Or you wouldn’t have hit me. 
You don’t love me, 
Or you wouldn’t resent me.

Brass that masquerades as gold,
Fit for any photo-fit, a counterfeit concealed.
I know, I know you,
Hiding naive amber under the Sun,
When you need not be devalued.

Glass that tries a diamond life
Won't shine the same despite its cut.
Not fit for their crowns-
The product of sand and not finer science-
But you don't need to be.

Darkness will and can cloak itself as bright light in a hideous form,
Masquerades of meanings twirling within a pool of a fiery storm,
Entangled and dancing with others shadows and those beastly insane,
Without consequences to others and shards of sharp inflicting pain.

Mumbling through their madness that takes some sort of wicked flight,
Followers were beckoned,listened , responded
