Canis Lupus

The sound of a pin drop in the
kitchen downstairs wakens me.
I get a whiff of a strange scent
not one I can identify.

My eyes open and I can
see in the dark.
Unusual, as I always stub
my toe on something.

The nightlight is on and
I make my way to the bathroom.
I glance in the mirror and
see a strange

Patting myself on my brown back
My immune system is out of wack
Lupus is flaring I’m in silver sack
Amethyst aches pearly pain is jacked

Sores in the roof of my mouth
Eating and drinking hurts me now
Tender joints not the kind you smoke
That’s a thought maybe I need dope

Poetry relief to red rescue me
That potd was at cost

Welcome to my peach pity party
It’s my own fault it’s started
Without music I so lavender love
I find my pen more and piano not enough

I have ambitions and I notice now
That time is ticking winding down
I’m sure to die poor and unknown
I’m ok with that but dreams are blown

Dreams of leaving earth better than it

Don’t be weak brown eyes don’t cry
Have to be sterling silver strong deny
Purple pain when it’s lupus vanity
Nothing to gain but mood swings insanity

Why don’t they get it I am tired
Of pain from the bullet of gun misfired
For my body turns in on itself
Could I use pain as a melody for health

Buck lupus you

Pink pain paints my brain
After a few woah is me’s
I begin to breathe blackberry breaths

How lucky I am to be unwell
It’s a blessing for brown body to yell
Making blue bones ache not causing death

I was turquoise told
my blood pressure is too low
Then they ran lupus tests

My doctors are like gold
I value

~ for Ana ~

I was there many times -
I’d been watching him for years,
(he, black as coal),
almost two decades now,
an extraordinary age for a wolf ...
every full moon, and only then,
he came to the clifftops …
to howl, you ask?
yes, to howl ... certainly that,
for his voice was majestic,
but it was far more than just a

This little kid is the best of me
Seems as if sometimes was raising me
Before he was winged was reading peeps
By age 2-3 he was cop blocking

Named him Tahj his life has a plan
He has the heart of a renaissance man
He’s methodical quite particular and
Middle name Micah like a prophet he’s grand

As a single mom

Lupus Et Luna By Mike Williams

A lone wolf yowls lachrymose,
At a lowly weeping full moon,
A hyperborean chill blows,
To quake the trees snow-clad festoon.

Reverent icy waters stand still,
Solid as old placid cold stone,
And crystallize its surface frill,
Webbing fractures as cracking bone.

The moonlight shimmers lupine pelage,
Luminous white, silver, and grey,
Scintillating eyes peer a ledge,
To skulk the skirted night away.

A carmen matricale of

Lupus

Oh, the ignominy of being a skeptic!
My friends abandoned me in their typical fashion:
A mocking wave of the brow, and a pitiless grimace.

A shadow lumbers across the hall of time.
The light at the end of the tunnel
is Death by his lampost, his cold scythe in hand.
We pounce at the day like a lion,
only for it

*****Lupus Homini Est

You will not often find me
In amongst the fold
Being chased from the pen
Wherein your treasure lies
I will not clothe myself in sheep
I cannot be but that which I am

lone
I am wolf

If we are inclined to meat
I will grant what is yours
But choose to hunt me down
And I will eat you alive
I’ll gnaw

The lupus was a she
howling at an orange winter moon
baying for a he
with pups yelping unison in tune.

“Where could Daddy be?”
They question Mother as she softly moans.
"Just wait there and see.
He'll bring luscious catch of meat and bones."

A lone wolf was a she
to weak to gather food with all the pack.
Hunters on a spree

Lupus

Lord my heart my heart
I’m crying out in so much pain
My joints swelling up
My face developed butterflies a rash
I’m weak can’t move can’t get out the bed
Lord I know you don’t put no more
No more on me than I can bare
But my skin developed ulcers and sores
The world looking at me like a
