I came... with nothing, without any clothes on.
I saw... with my blurd eyes, without glasses on.
Then I conquered... with my poetrysoup on.

You and me are here!...

Conquered
The cool breeze soothes
The wounds on my cheek

The night is quiet, not even a peep

The stars shining bright, in the ebony sky

It gives me hope that I'll be alright...

The sidewalk stands firm, under my feet
I lean against the wind, and softly breathe

Exhaling the pain, discomfort, defeat..
Igniting the strength that lies inside me

I open my eyes,...

My Beloved Flowers***

Those flames of  orange marigolds;
Proudly bloomed golden sunflowers;
Perky pink asters;
Lavender, draping-petaled petunias; and
Deeply velvet, dainty violets
In my cherished photo, showing
Them arranged for my admiration…
Those were the last flowers I was able to grow,
As I collected their blossoms before
The first frost two years ago and how
Afterwards, my poor health
Prevented my gardening...

Conquered
I cannot presume to know the motives of those outside my own heart
And counted are the moments that I realize my very own
But I do know that human nature is irrevocably raw at its core,
And this acknowledged by its Designer
Is a necessary balance weighing the uncompromising laws of love

Some despair at this unyielding hard truth
Or...

Stage Fright Conquered
On the stage,
Lights are blaring,
Crowds in a rage,
Everyone is staring;
Eyes are watering,
Lip is quivering,
Knees are buckling,
Thoughts keep racing;
Will I mess up?
Will I pass out?
Will I throw up?
There’s so much doubt;
What were the notes?
What were the words?
I just might choke,
My memories a blur;
The crowd is waiting,
To hear my singing,
My heart is racing,
My head is ringing;
I open...

Conquered Sensibilities
Indulge me, I am Calliope,
   igniting naked souls at heart
whilst poesy descends captive skies
    calling upon ecstatic harmonies
 whence day gives way to nature's
    bounteous prolific profundity
    & ominous darkness of poetic
   blood smears' inky quiescency
 awaiting creative words to surrender
...

The revolution of stars in the galaxy
Resembles the whirling of dreams in your heart
The unknown part of the galaxy
Symbolizes the unachievable dreams in your heart
The galaxy is the future base of mankind
And your dreams are your future life goals
The galaxy in the dark is to be conquered one day
And your dreams in the unpredictable futue...

Ocean girdled nation had prospect for absolute containment
Overseas observers, in distant comfort, complacent
Wuhan origin arrivals sparked a catastrophic failure
Leaving lock down 25th January, flying into Australia
Similar instances followed, action came agonisingly belated

Contamination suppression echoes with mismanaged lament
Millions of innocent impeded by heartache of the unknown
Strength of their immunity's competence
Covid's undercover incessant vehemence...

Love Victorious Evil Conquered
Guarding my love for you
it’s as hard as heck, when
trying to safely hide my feelings
from hardened jeers.

Keeping my emotions bottled up.
Make’s me jittery, when
scorners insist on taunting me
about my lowly status.

This disappointing drama
is far too much to handle
left me gasping for breath
from the endless, stinging, outbursts.

The deriders’ sword of rejection
that my lover’s family aimed at...

A Song For a Conquered Race
Though each rising power has a fall
Yet how long some of the races of the world will remain conquered
I know each aspiration will rise and touch the land of the sky
Each ambition will reach to its destination in time
Yet how long some of the races of the world will remain without home
We may go without...

Conquered Race
It is utterly wrong and disgusting
To keep a race of man too weak and feeble for so long
Be they Red Indians of America
Or the aborigines of Australia
All human beings are with souls engraved with dignity and honor
Be they colored
Be they white or red
And unlike stones they all have aspirations
They dream too to be free
And...

Love Divided and Conquered
I yearn to love you with and by all "Loves'" standards of honor and glory.
Yet I am weakened by the power of lust. Love, for all its values of
magnificence and admiration float away on the wings of my essence
at the brush of your whisper against my neck; thus, impelling me,
binding me...

How Day Conquered Night
Mysterious days, majestic nights
The words used to describe them do not seem quite right
For how can it be that night is ‘majestic’?
It is always seen as a thought, pessimistic!

Now the days, so to speak, are seen as the good
A title claimed so that the night never could
Therefore why is it seen as mysterious?
The amount of...

Premium Member He Came He Saw He Conquered
I sat at the bar sipping my lemon and lime
He came over pint in hand and sat on the stool next to mine.

“Haven’t seen you in here before”
I didn’t answer because something in my bag had just become very interesting.

He said, “You have lovely hair.”
I didn’t answer because my phone needed checking.

He said, “You have...
