Hyper-Caloric

Though what we know and that which we feel goes into what we write I believe poets are more inclined toward image-periphery the alchemy of lyric-formation what is just around the corner horrifically vague standing on the lip-edge toes dangling over peering bravely into a primal abyss ------------------------------ each new declaration a journey backward, compressing coldly into dank catacombs of past drafting explorers forward, confronting bard echoes the maps of our ancient priests left for the daring the literary awakened new skies revealed sustain alternating and renewed every night a fresh splattering of light every dawn a bounty-warmth of slippery sunny icing such decadence our breakfast lunch and supper no dessert denied the rich slices we pen the hyper-caloric that drives us to the brink daring us to step off both angels and demons awaiting their catches lift must be in our favor -- ------------------------- Let the work begin!

Much truth is hidden behind the veil ! When we plunge deeper , greater insights are gleaned ! Its meaning never exhausts and 'new skies are revealed' ! Your poem is very profound . Instead of peering into the abyss, let us try to look onto the zeniths, as you rightly warn! Great penning Joe.

Absolutely! We are all believers in UFO's when it comes to matters of poetry -- look to the skies for those mystical verses, the abyss will always be there:) Love it! Thank you, Valsa.

Often my words are a mystery to me as well, trying to touch what I know is there, in the shadows, beyond the veil. Thank you, Victor.

Have you posted this before Joe? I just looked to see what I had commented. I must be going crazy. I was sure I had read those very words. Anyway despite my ineffective mind, an interesting read. Cheers SV

A new work but a recurring theme I imagine. I think that a poem's success is after it is read, there remains a tingle in the reader and writer -- something has been changed. Residual of a past poem and a new stirring by this one. I hope there is something of value in each one, beyond the dear exercise. Presumptuous of me I guess. I do my best. Thank you SV.
