Yes, he was a British theologian but while the heart is also capable of love, consider the thin line between love and lust, marriages & abuses, Nationalism & Nazism, pride and possessiveness, Eros & Pornea. From what little I know about the prophet Jeremiah, he did indeed warn us of how our wickedness can belie our good intentions, and sadly there are those who exploit the spirit of the holiday in just such a way. This is a well-crafted poem, my friend. Be well!
