Amen to that! On another site I use, occasionally contest hosts will use AI to generate comments...easily recognized as coming from a stylized source. Likewise, "yuck" to AI responses. Congratulations!

simple and to the point. Sometimes, though, I've found the AI programs label part or all of some of my poems as AI. I panic knowing I've not used AI. It's a touchy topic. Yellow Rose

yes, it's all so crazy. But if someone who never wrote perfectly before is suddenly writing extremely well, that's a huge red flag. Also you would have to notice if it happens consistenly. Let's say they only test 50% for AI but most of the time not at all. Or they might test 80% or more but not consistenly. I'd be willing to believe them in cases like that!

I concur - yes, and don't let the door hit you where the good Lord, I mean, where the AI split you. TO THE POINT and you saved me; I wrote one but not as it pertained to poems. Glad I read you before posting. We should make a file to accumulate real poet poems about AI/poems and present it to, I dunno ... who'd care. But, sadly, in time, America will probably have a "Department of Equal Rights for AI" Yi ... CayCay

Ha. I can see it now. And it will be a dept under the Dems no doubt.

I agree. AI takes authenticity and everything stands just ordinary after it.

Good riddance!! Here! Here! Short but to the heart of the matter! Or heartless, as AI is.

thanks, Joe. I just had to come up with the one and only word to make sense rhyming with riddance!

Hiya Petal, Short sweet and to the point. Hope you’re both keeping well. I have nothing new up so don’t bother looking. Take care, Richard.

Well stated, Andrea, but I'm afraid it's too late. AI has access to all art, which includes poetry, and is gathering materials and then rehashes and rewrites them, and then they are being claimed as original material by those using AI.

thank heavens all my poetry before 2010 was copyrighted in little books, as if that helps any!!

Like most things now-a-days -- lazy, cheap quick gratification. Shallow spirit. Fake. If allowed, this will change the nature of poetry, making mediocrity the norm. Perhaps Soup can at least state that AI poems must be labelled as such, so people new to the art are not fooled. Maybe folks sponsoring contests should emphasize~ No AI poems! Maybe, poem written by computer program, because operator is too stupid to write his or her own.

the people using it are dishonest, so there is no way they would ever confess to it. Well, not if they are in a contest since we all know AI is against the rules, especially in a contest. It pains me to see these people getting wins, but ce la vie.

Funny and yet quite serious! Use it if they must, just not in contests and labeled as such in their titles! Fake artists, poets, writers… very sad… for what? cruelty, notoriety, selfishness, a strange kind of friendship? shrug-shrug!!
