What to Submit?
1 original, poem on the theme of Scare Me Good! I want you to do your best to leave me babbling and shaking with fear. Fresh, new writes only. No short forms and/or fancy word shapes. Narratives, sonnets, free verse, couplets, tercets, quatrains, quaterns, quintains, sextains, pantoums, villanelles, etc. -- all good.
Prizes
First Prize, An appropriate gift (if you supply a mailing address)
Second Prize, Glory
Third Prize, Less Glory
Descending to 10th and final place.
Preparing Your Entry
Submit one copy of your poem online. Format your poem. Please make sure your entry is easy to read — no illustrations or fancy fonts. Please check grammar, spelling and the specific rules for your chosen poetic form -- DO NOT select, "I don't know". At the bottom of your poem/narrative, add the date the poem was written and the name of the contest (Scare Me Good Poetry Contest) -- DO NOT add the author (you) or the sponser (me) names! If you'd like to relate the source of your inspiration, add it to the Poetry Notes section.
English Language
Poems should be in English. Poems translated from other languages are not eligible, unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.
