Writers Block

I haven't written anything since I think November of last year. I don't know what it is, but I just cant seem to find inspiration. I hope I can break through this blank page that sits in front of me and haunts me.

Writers block is very hard but I find that if you take the first stanza of a favorite poem or a paragraph from a peice of work you love and try to rewrite it-make it your own or write down how that peice makes you feel....or listen to a piece of music that really moves you and just write..it doesn't have to make sense just write down words that come to mind they will find thier own form once you get started or lead you into something else. good luck.

My friend, how well I know the feeling. Sometimes inspiration flows in a seemingly unstoppable flood, and suddenly it dries up without warning, but hang in there, the well is not permanently dry. Just don't force it; the water will flow again. At least that's the way it works with me. Good luck. Bill

You are the king of taking a world of vision and compacting it into just a few words - what if you try working on a certain form of poetry - tanka, sijo, senryu, haiku? When I get blocked beyond blocked, sometimes I try to hone in on a specific form and it seems to work a different part of my brain and then the wheels get oiled and off I go!!! I've missed your concise writing so I hope your page isn't blank for long! ~T
