What A Day This Has Been - Caroline Mackey's Blog

It started out like every other day in our home would when all the children are ill. I made doctors appointments for the three of them. Fed them, maid sure that they were properly dressed so we wouldn't be late.
Off we went to our neighboring town of Ellsworth. The children were seen in a timely fashion witch was rare for it always seems to take a long time in any physician office We then went to get the meds that they would need to get them on the rode to recovery.

From there we would go home or so we thought. On our way home after turning off of highway K14 onto highway K4 it happened. There it was, a car was coming striate at us. I then swerved to my left to avoid direct contact. Unfortunately I was unable to miss the oncoming car completely. The car hit the passenger side of our van, sending us into a spin. Instead of being west bound we ended up being east bound by the time I got the van to a stop. I immediately check the children and their was no visible sines of injury. I then step out of the van to asses the damage of our vehicle. It was totaled, never to be driven again.

Within the next half hour or so my spouse would arrive to retrieve his family. Thankful to see us all visually unharmed he hugged us all and informed us how much he truly loved all of us.

 
Days after the accident my children and I still have a lot of pain. But I'm not angry with any-one. It is just the opposite I'm very thankful that I and my children are still alive to tell our story.

Thank you God for riding with us on that horrifying journey we took on that faithful day in September 2007.
