<P><FONT size=2>It was a cold and dreary day that December. Two people ventured out in the bitter cold to provide holiday fixings for the family. Poor they were but proud, not asking for a thing. This husband and this wife would soon find out that good luck would not come easy.</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>Gathering the scrap metal from her past would become the easiest part of their day. Time spent together, something they rarely had, had been provided by their misfortune. They were obligated to provide the main course, which they couldn't do for they didn't have the means to do so. Bound and determined to keep their obligation, they set out on a mission to do just that.</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>The load was finally ready, pressed for time they set out on an adventure that would truly lead them home. As they started out it began to snow quite heavily. The husband speaks softly, "I hope we make it. This storm is getting much worse and the shop closes soon."</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>The wife just smiled and said, "We must, for without the turkey I will ruin the holiday. Not only that, I will fail them again. I can't do that, for you see I have failed my family countless times before; I can't do that again."</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>The husband gently spoke, "You won't, I won't let it happen."</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>As he finished speaking a horrible noise was heard. They had a flat tire. Ice like tears began to fall upon the wife's cheeks as she realized they had left the jack at home so as to provide more room for the load. They were stranded miles from civilization. When out of nowhere this old Ford Falcon appeared. Lo and behold, the car stopped. In it a man of Hispanic descent. He stepped out and approached the husband and wife. He began to speak, "What seems to be the problem? A flat I see, well let me lend you a hand. I have a jack and I see you already have a tire so let's get started." A big smile on his face as they finished their task.</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>The wife graciously thanked the man. As he got in his car, the man peered back long enough to say, "God be with you."</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>As they parted ways the snow fell quite heavily making visibility virtually impossible. But the husband was determined this adventure of theirs was going to be a success, and onward they went. Finally making it to their destination. They would encounter another difficult situation. As they approached the shop, they realized they didn't make it on time. The shop was closed. No gasoline for their vehicle, nor any money. What were they to do, where would they go? Sitting in the bitter cold once again pondering their fate. It came to them like the bright star that appears on the darkest of nights to show your way. "We must go south to the nearest occupied gas station, they must have a phone."</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>Upon arrival they find the phone to be out of order. Completely in despair the wife began to weep. Little hope she felt, for what were they to do? They knew no one, and you see with the holiday quickly approaching people seemed to just pass them by. The wife, frantic at this point, just praying to be home with her three children, went inside sobbing. A middle aged woman with silver in her hair approached the wife, "Ma'am, what seems to be wrong? Why are you crying? This is the season of peace and love. Maybe I could help, please let me help!"</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>The sobbing wife explained their situation. The middle aged silver-haired woman began to speak in a gentle voice, "Get as much gas as you need and I myself will cover it for you see I've been there myself and know what you're going through. So please accept this as a gift from me to you and your family."</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>Still no turkey for the dinner and quite fearful of the reaction of her family for they are so critical of all she does. The wife appears to the public to be hysterical. The wife moved slowly outside to be with her husband. A van pulled up and a young woman got out and quickly passed as if she didn't see the sorrow-filled display of emotion next to her. The wife's spouse came to her. He grabbed her ever so gently and pulled her to him. Holding her softly he spoke to her, "It will be fine. I promise, I love you, it will be fine."</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>The young woman reappeared, opened the van door just to stop and pause for a moment. "Is she alright? What has her so upset? Why is she sobbing so? It can't be that bad..."</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>"Oh yes it is, you don't know my family. All my life I've been there one true failure this year and I have proven just that. If dinner isn't to perfection it's my fault." the wife said sobbing.</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>"How can this be?" the lady asked.</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>"I can't fulfill my obligation, which is to provide the turkey." the wife spoke with tears still streaming down her cheeks.</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>"Oh don't you worry," the young woman spoke, "I'll be right back, don't you worry, stay here." The young woman soon once again returned. "Now you take this, you need it more than I." As she got into her van to head home to her family,the storm ceased to exist.</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>The husband took his wife's hand and led her around to the passenger side of the truck. He spoke, "Let us now go home to our children my love. You see, I told you it would be fine, we are truly blessed."</FONT></P> <P style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0in"><FONT size=2>As they drove home an overwhelming presence was with them, for you see they were never alone in their travels. They had been blessed with true angels. So as you travel this holiday season know you are never truly alone for you see, there are angels among us.</FONT></P>
