Remembering a Great Land

She was once a magnificent land filled with glory, greenery and loved.
Cherished, proud, admired and oh so much desired.

Her waters flowed from the brooks and her ocean waves roared.
Once you could see your reflection from the majestic coastal shore.

Her harvest was fresh, edible with no fear of pestilence or chemicals.
Fruits from her trees could be eaten with ease.

There was no worry about transfat.
Most food was home cooked with no preservatives or this and that.

The animals would walk the land healthy and carefree.
There was slight concern of shortage or impurity.

The air felt clean as you breathed on a beautiful spring day.
All the billowy clouds were hued with white and blue leisurely flowing their way.

Traveling was filled with pleasure one would look forward to a favorite destination.
No one had to measure the distance and approach with hesitation.

There was no Internet nor was it a way to survive.
A car was a luxury not a necessity to drive.

People smiled as you walked down the street with respect in their eyes.
Little worry for children who played at parks outside.

This land has changed the future is here.
Has change done good or added more fear?

Is progress truly a progression, what little did we gain?
Did the people in the past live their life in vain?

We can determine the future by the way we live.
Remember our values, God, Respect, Honor and to Love is to give.
