Daddy

Your eyes held warmth and shined love to the depths of my soul
Teaching us about honor, kindness, and unconditional love was only part of your roll
You are my daddy but to me you were so much more
There was never a day you faltered, forever it is you I will adore
I saw with my own eyes how you touched everyone you ever met
Sacrificing anything for your family’s happiness with no regret
Kindness and care came with every smile you shared
The most upstanding and amazing man to you no one ever compared
My heart broke in to pieces the day I had to let you go
Heaven was rejoicing that day and a big celebration awaited you I know
A big piece of my heart went with you but I will try to do right
I will live my life in your honor and keep your footsteps in sight
Before you left I told you repeatedly how my heart truly felt
It was important to me that you understood that you made my heart melt
Although we celebrate that you are in Heaven and now by Gods side
Knowing I don’t get to see you until my end, never so much have I cried
I love you to your core daddy, how much I miss you is profound
God took you home but I am confident that by love we are bound
Every day that I have left here I will carry you in my heart
When my day comes I will rejoice as we will no longer have to be apart
