Our Soldiers Our Heros

So few and far between are those who for others have consideration

Men who will sacrifice themselves for another without hesitation

Not for the praise or a reward, no desire for any kind of commendation

Choices made simply from the heart, they are in fact an inspiration

Our world could be such a beautiful place if more had their dedication

Truly divine individuals, humble and selfless without need for validation

You are champions to us all; I proclaim this with no reservation

These men known to us as US Soldiers, they bring our family’s great jubilation

For they live by a code of ethics of which their actions are the biggest indication

If not for their self-sacrifice the feeling would be great sadness rather than elation

For the loved ones of heroes lost, we express great sadness for your tribulation

Some face a long road to recovery these Hero’s body’s riddled with devastation

Their noble actions have brought from the masses nothing but admiration

Although they would tell you different, from their peers this is the collaboration

Thank you for being true to your hearts despite all temptation

You are truly respected for going beyond any expectation

There are no words that can begin to express the appreciation

You have given everyone the opportunity for great celebration

If we all could be half the man you are can you imagine the ramification

True Heroes now and forever to be part of your identification

Inspiration

Love between you both started as infatuation
Both of you knowing the other is the one
Marriage inevitable from friends’ observation
Months of tedious tasks and planning now over
Recited your vows, upon you a big celebration
A magical evening with those who are close
Counting every minute till alone, a romantic consummation
Rising up early feeling strangely at peace
It has to be due to the promise to be together for the duration
Time has passed now, talking of what is your future
Equally excited by ideas of starting a new generation
Having fun trying for what seemed like forever
Unsuccessful you see the doctor for both a complication
Sad and depressed with even some anger
Testing your marriage seems now it is a frustration
Looking deep in your heart when each is alone
Centered again new options you promise dedication
Putting away funds knowing these options are costly
Best chances will be adoption or artificial insemination
A family we so desire so much love to offer
On track with your goal for you there is admiration
Each day with the focus to put away something
Wanting for extras ignored is temptation
Health problems thought to explain your body changes
Not even a clue to your cycle of ovulation
Discouraged that menopause affects you so early
Researching everything available for your education
Waking up sick somehow this time is different
What the pregnancy test shows depends on the lines location
God has stepped in and created a miracle
For in your tummy grows your loving creation
It was told that things wouldn’t happen this way
Now others can look at you for inspiration
You have been blessed by God
Exceeding for you, your brightest expectation

Thank You For Your Kind Heart

So many focus on everything other than what counts
For the less fortunate their pain and anguish mounts
You have a beautiful heart and a kind soul
The kindness you have shown will help me reach my goal
I don’t know you and you don’t know me but for you there is love
When it comes to my faith in humanity, for the rest you stand above
Giving of yourself to those in need is what I see
Selfless, kind and generous I am sure all would agree
My heart has grown two sizes because of you
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do
If there were more like you imagine the possibilities
People caring enough to help others, doing away with the hostilities
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones
May your Holidays be filled with love and joy by the tons
Your generosity will give a little magic to someone who otherwise was down
For this you are a hero and upon your head should be a crown
Again I thank you for your kind heart, to me it means everything
All that is good and kind, to the world you bring

He Is Soaring With the Angels

Grandpa is a beautiful man there is no doubt
Devoted to all of us his lifetime throughout
He has touched everyone he has ever met
Living by a code he has left this place without regret
I know he is soaring with the Angels in Heaven
Although the pain in my heart for a time won’t lessen
We want to celebrate my grandpas beautiful life
The battle of wonderful memories and his loss causing strife
A man who would be there for anyone in need
Amazing is a word that comes to my mind indeed
So much to say but the words are not flowing
Such a beautiful soul he always seemed to be glowing
I will strive each day to make him proud
My grandpa, my friend, my everything I’ve avowed
Keep him in your heart as he will help you along the way
Watching over us and loving us will never go away
Grandpa I love you more than I could ever express
When I am down I will acknowledge part of you I possess
Happiness for you as I feel sadness down deep
As I celebrate your life I can’t help but weep
So for you my sweet grandpa this I can say
Your love has always been with me never leading me astray
I will miss you terribly until my day has come
No fear for that time for like you an Angel I will become
We will celebrate and party like we have never known
For Heaven will be perfect with you at his side and God at his throne

I Appreciate You and I Love You

It is cold and I am here alone, or am I
I fought for their freedom, I am not a bad guy
Not wanting this life and never thought it would be me
Most are here by circumstance not a choice they would agree
Never feared fighting for my country but now I am scared
Is this my life now that I am home, it’s as if no one cared
Never did I want a handout just a chance and understanding
Passersby look at me as homeless, they don’t see I am upstanding
I am saddened and humiliated by my situation
Being asked to serve my country there was never even a hesitation
Why am I here, being here at this point in my life is strange
Willing to work with pride for a fair paycheck in exchange
Please don’t notice me I am embarrassed and can’t face your eyes
There is a dark storm inside but my pride makes me wear a disguise
Never ever should you feel humiliated nor embarrassed
You should be shown love and appreciation and there for cherished
YOU ARE loved my brother you must remember this
Not everyone is good or gives when they can, humans they dismiss
Such a great man who fought for us all should never be on the street
As I see you it is simple, for our country you represent our heartbeat
Our country has made a mistake, never should a soldier be homeless
You are a hero and deserve nothing less than to feel wholeness
While things are slowly changing in the government this has to end now
You still love your country even now after being left all alone, to you I bough
You are the reason we have the rights and choices we have, I will never forget
You have sacrificed everything for me, on helping you I am dead set
There is no pity for you, pure respect and admiration is more like it
I am embarrassed for the human race for by now they would have quit
Never be embarrassed or feel like you are less, for here you stand
A proud American Veteran, a man who gave everything for his homeland
Before me I see a man filled with Honor, Love and Pride
In the fight against homeless Veterans it is you I stand alongside
I love you, I appreciate you, and I care for you deeply
Never see yourself as anything less as I believe in you completely
This poem is to remind you that not all is lost and America can do better
Until this issue is gone please feel my ongoing hug in the form of this sweater

The Real Deal

You are kind, generous, beautiful, and intelligent, this is not my imagination
Love, honor, and pride fill your heart, yet in your eyes I see desperation
No one else matters as much as you, of this fact you need an education
Why can’t you see what all others see, for yourself no appreciation
Your eyes are wide open, but you are blind to your electrification
You must love and respect yourself, you have an obligation
Put all others aside, on your true happiness you must put concentration
Back and forth with your emotions, time to time causing frustration
Not a fight you can afford to loose, kick weakness to the curb with no hesitation
Look at yourself the way all others do, to this fight give dedication
You are amazing in many ways, to many more than you know, you are an inspiration
No more questioning or second guessing, have you forgotten you are God’s creation
The moral to this poem is simple and straight forward, you are worth the celebration
I love and appreciate you; there is nothing I would change, just for your information
So get on with it already, your awesome future is the only motivation
Everything you have thought till now, all up for reevaluation
There is no better time than now, can’t afford procrastination
You are too special, and have too much to offer, just ask your friends for verification
Your daughter looking to you for guidance, show her your determination
She will be proud and confident, avoiding all that you suffered in each situation
It is really quite simple, be honest about who you are, no more character assignation
You have to see the facts, it is apparent to all that surround, look at your reputation

Strength Can Be a Curse

I am strong beyond words but I still feel the pain
Devoted to those I love, unconditional love I did not gain
Standing by them through all but the same I won’t obtain
Savagely attacked covertly, the lies I ascertain
All for a false sense of self-worth, I can’t explain
It matters little what people think, this I have to maintain
Despite the viciousness, taking the low road myself I must restrain
Will there ever be happiness, owning my choices no room to complain
Allowed the behavior thinking for others the hurt I could constrain
My heart has been crushed to pieces, over the years a strain
So alone, sometimes the sadness I can barely contain
Sacrificing everything for the loves of my life, can myself I regain
Strength can be a curse, for me there will be no campaign
Taken for granted, ignoring your needs they can’t abstain
Running away is an idea many times you entertain
Leaving behind those who need you most, simply inhumane
Will I ever matter in such a way to anyone else in my domain
I lost my greatest love, on that day I felt as if I had been slain
No end in sight, my love is so great that in this misery I will remain

Grizly Adams

A vivid memory of childhood, overall one of the best
Running to the TV, brimming with excitement and anticipation
Waiting to find out, what will be today’s quest
I lived for the man who taught us integrity, honor, and trust
You could easily say I was beyond being obsessed
I would be glued to the TV whether it was a rerun or new
Just to meet him once, as a child my only request
Many years passing, now a mother myself
My childhood dream came and went unaddressed
Now volunteering to help raise money for juvenile diabetes
Unaware who is invited to the event as DOCS special guest
All working diligently for the great cause at hand
The big day is nearing, who’s invited now expressed
Nervous and excited, I can’t believe what I am hearing
My childhood dream coming true, I must be blessed
Everything I had hoped for he exceeded with ease
To meet him in real life, you could only be impressed
So many years later, still touching so many lives
Something very special, Dan Haggerty has always possessed
I am honored to know him and have him in my life
To have a friend in Grizzly Adams, never would I have guessed

I Love You

I am your Mommy
My other roll is friend
All battles are not worth fighting
For the minor you should bend
When your interests are displayed
Those events I will attend
My endless Love and care
Your heart can depend
Feelings and emotions from me
For you I extend
Wide open and vulnerable
Feeling no pain I pretend
No matter the situation
It is you I will defend
If you are ailed with sickness
By your bed I will tend
When your heart has been broken
I will be there to help you mend
Your eyes full of tears
My shoulder I can lend
My daughter I Love
No time I would rather spend
God will come to me one day
He will tell me it’s my end
So you won’t be sad and alone
From Heaven, an angel God will send
I will kindly ask God
May I be the Guardian Angel to descend

Lonely

Lonely is this place, a life created in my mind
I hadn’t thought it through, not worth the time
My fantasy and reality confusing and intertwined
I thought it would work out for me this way
I couldn’t see the facts, to the repercussions I was blind
I don’t want to work that hard, too much effort to make
Now by my lies, to this miserable life I am confined
No one trusts or believes me, what am I supposed to do
Who will I be, where will I go, my future contract unsigned
I should have thought it through, done what was right
In the game of life, I am so far behind
I want what I see, love, care, and happiness
I haven’t earned a thing, of this myself I must remind
I can’t continue to live like this, unhappy and alone
I can make the right choices, with pride and happiness combined
