A biographical poem

Life is like a bottle of buckfast
Sticky sweet but in the end its harsh
Take too much gets you ed fast
LIfes not for the faint of heart heres my bars

I was born in the G town
2 teams that’s the showdown
And its pick one or get mown down
Cause life on the streets don’t slow down

We were out there twocking cars
Striking out that’s an iron bar
Blades out that a mars bar
Blackshirts come its gone too far

I find myself on a train speeding
Thoughts swirling in my brain head squeeling
Then I see a wee Jock Guard Sgt screaming
And I question? What have I signed up for

12 weeks later heres a hat and a badge
Set up for army life civie mates think im radge
Did I trade my place for a cap badge?
Am I no better than a blackleg?

Army lifes all hurry up and wait
Young men turn old hair from black to slate
Too much politics too many yes men
Army life like Westminster number 10

Then 7 clicks and the threats start
No jobs civvie streets well hard
Or youll work in maccies
When did working class become the clown man?

Got out found my feet and my passion
Rhythmic dance from the Caribbean
Bachata helped me out real talk
Helped me moderate the black dog
