Fresh Air

Your eyes sparkle like lapis lazulite
As your hair cascades down your face
Your skin glows like morning sunset
And as i look at you i think are you an Angel tonight?

Your a breath of fresh air in a world of hate
And looking at you i see my soul mate
And i long too hold u close in the darkest night
And as our eyes meet like 2 stars lost in the cold lonely night

As the word i love you carries on the cool morning air
And as i run my fingers through your hair
So let me reassure you i will always be there
I love you now and forever I will be there

War To End All Wars

as the dawn light fast approaches,
as emotions they run high,
Are we paying lip service to the fallen,
do we ask ourselves why?

Why did young boys pay the price?
Why oh why did they roll those dice?
Those from wretched circumstances came,
Why did those young boys die?

As they play the last post solemnly.
As all heads are bowed to the floor,
On a frosty winters morn,
The colour red shines to the fore.

So as we think of Tommy Atkins,
Who gave his life off in the war,
Why oh why are men still fighting?
If that was the war to end all wars.

Heroes Need Heroes To

So who do you look up too?
Wishing you could repeat their acts of daring do!
Dying to escape your self build shell,
Dreaming that you were like Constantine in the realm of hell.
When real life is getting you down.
Day dreaming you were Spiderman webbing up the town.
Reality the daily struggle we face.
Faster than the Flash trying to get ahead of the rat race.
Truth is stranger than fiction.
Have faith in the strength of your convictions.
Know that no matter how small we feel.
Everyone is going through their own ordeal.
So remember every day be strong.
Swimming through humanities daily throng.
Heroes they need heroes too.
You're a hero to me I know thats true.

Free

As the wind rolls cold of the mountain plain
As the Hindu Kush rises like skyscrapers to Gods name
But these are not my mountains and the wind is not the same
So as my plane takes off im glad im headed hame

Back to the lowlands of the South and the Highlands of the North
Those crystal clear burns lochs and mountain streams
Back to the braes and the bens and the fresh mountain snow
Back to where the thistle and the heather grow

So who is proud to be Scottish? well that would be me
And what does Alba need? She needs to be free
So people rise up against centuries of tyranny
As a unified people chant were free

Emotional Sea

I feel like I am drowning in a sea of emotion,
The undertow dragging me low,
The first few feet my lungs are pained,
As life flashes fast before my eyes,
I see mistakes and sadness as regret acts like a rip tide
Pulling me down deeper to the icy depths below,
The pressure now unbearable I feel my ribs compact,
As the vision like a weight keeps sinking me slow,
I am left thinking was my life just filled with sadness?
What about the times of madness?
Was I not happy even then?
Suddenly I see a face in the murky shadows of my mind,
Of happiness I am reminded,
Of a love that was requited,
Your beauty pushes out the madness,
It cuts away regret and sadness,
And buoyed I am with gladness I am lifted to the fore,
As my head breaches the surface,
I awaken from my slumber,
I am left with thoughts of wonder,
Are you my Sweet Lenore?

War

War today is all around
The four winds carry its awful sound
And people fight people so more men die
My only question is just why?

They have a war on terror and a war on drugs
A war on peace and even on love
And mans obsession with killing his fellow man
Is out of control all over this land

As we point our guns at our neighbour's land
Are we really so different or just like lines in the sand
Lines that shift and disappear over time
were not lines were people thats why i write this rhyme

Sword

It cuts clean through flesh
As it sings through the cold air
Scars my enemy

Rain

It came from above
Falling so fast on my head
It gets me all wet

Freedom

It started in Stirling, English blood was shed
A hero was named, All around men lay dead
The claymore was wielded against many a foe
Ancient scores settled with every blow

We marched south to york, a city to sack
ramming down the gate it broke the men's back
Once inside we ransacked the town
English bodies dead pilled high on the ground
The kings nephew commanded, we cut of his head
We put it in a basket to London it was sent

Now on to Falkirk, we were flanked by a foe
The nobles were bought off, our country was sold
They would not commit to the battle that day
Cowards and scoundrels were Albas nobles that day

Our cowardly nobles, a Hero betrayed
On a slab in London executed he lay
He would not submit to English tyranny
Alba Gu Bragh were the words that he said

The Man At the Bottom of the Lane

No I am not a famous poet,
being published everyday,
But I am a man of society,
And I have words to say,
How can I get these words out,
When Society imprisons me,
Society sticks these labels to me,
Calling me socialist and multiculturalist,
And the Right wing call me traitor,
Those haters want me dead,
Yet still the words build up inside me,
The words have no fear of death,
And they rush headlong from my mouth,
Like a Forlorn hope of old breaching a castle moat,
And you talk of shipping the immigrants home,
back home upon a boat,
Were we not all immigrants at one point,
And they label me again you're a liberal quote unquote,
If you read and take one thing from this,
Let it be that human beings are not the same,
But our differences enhance our lives,
Would it not be boring to be carbon copies,
Of the man at the bottom of the lane.
