Spirits

Gin
My old familiar
Friend
Where have
You been
This room is
Getting smaller and
Its closing in
On my darkest
Fears

Whiskey
You’ve all but
Left me when we
Used to drink
together so
Frequently
Now my thoughts
Are drinking
Me, simply
Feeding off my
Self-pity

Pinnacle
Its been long
Since we’ve spent
A night alone
And this heart
Grows cynical
Finding it impossible
To atone for
These slithering
Sins

Drink
I’ve all but
Drowned my
Sorrows I only
Wish I could
Borrow your strength
Once more
As I step out
this life
And drink once
More
