Untitled 1-11-2014

And here I sit,
In tears yet again
Wishing I could let it all out

Emotions ready to spill
In salt laden streams
While in my head I shout

Old wounds are opened
And new ones are made
Each time I mull over the past

Strong is my will
As I duck tape the cracks
Not knowing how long it will last

When there is no other fix
The dam will burst forth
And a river of tears I will cry

My soul misses that touch
Of soft fingers and lips
Never felt but for in the minds eye

There is really no end
To the yearning I feel
So I'll accept what I must face

In my dream you will stay
Till fate brings you to me
To rest in my loving embrace

Wow, Beth - I feel the torment and longing in this verse. Nicely written. Just as an aside - it is "duct" tape. I hope you don't mind the suggestion. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your poetry. Joe
