Last of Us

the world is round
I know not why
with every turn
my baby cried
I knew not how
nor what to say
too long aground
I ran astray

now life’s a dance
a wish gone bad
it takes your breath
it makes you mad
but not mad as
this thirst for you
that turned these lips
from red to blue

the water's cold
as cold can be
the winter winds
came down to see
once brilliant eyes
like summer days
slowly grow dim
and slip away
