Darkness Entails

You wrap your arms around my body like a cold wet sea,
You make me forget who I am supposed to be.
I shiver in fear of what your darkness entails,
i run to the shore ready to lift my sails.
You caress my cheek like the mystique lover,
You lift me off my feet in a horrific hover.
I try to light a candle to keep you at bay,
I only have 12 more hours till it hits day.
Tears stream down my face in defeat,
My heart can't take the fear with each passing beat.
Oh, Sun God, where are thou at now?
Why have you failed me; how?
Tick Tock goes the clock in my head,
Maybe this will go away if i go to bed.

Poignant poem this Amelia! Love how you've used natural darkness to bring out a deeper meaning. Nice!
