Bones to Stones of Mountain Tops - :America:

Don’t bury me hard
For my wrongs
We all have skeletons
We’re moving on from
How can I shine
In my new soul
If you keep digging up
My old bones

Liberate me
Lift me up
Either by your silence
Or by your love
But don’t spill your poison
In my well
When I’m trying to rise
Don’t try to help me to fail
Believe in me
Believe in yourself

Don’t cast a stone
Against my skin of sin
Don’t rally for destruction
When I’m rebuilding within
When I stumble
Don’t smear the dust upon my tears
Don’t draw the shade upon my stars
To mask your own dark fears
With your self-righteous jeers
…. Like you’ve been here

Don’t dig up old bones
To try to break me
Build me strong
Leave me your own legacy

Liberate me
Liberate yourself
