Yes I Did

You say I didn’t treat you right
A thorn in your flesh you claim I was
And that less was the care you saw
I thought of blaming it on you
But on a second thought so not to

Had I listened to the voice of reason
That sought to be heard ages before
Had I softened my heart to logic
Can a broken kettle carry tea?
I’d have saved myself the embarrassment

And I am busy contemplating my past
Quite rhetorical is my question
But is there anyone to be blamed?
A passing glance I call that
And nature failed less in its course

Crucify me or perhaps convict
But a noble chance u would grant
A guest to my frail heart u can be
And whether or not you find some love
Bear me witness that care I did
Yes I did!
