The Athlete

In life many are the races
For varying requirements to cater
Because of an undeniable fact
That different abilities people got
The capabilities differing even further
There are those who are too fast
They will sprint for a few seconds,
Then hold their breath in rest
They choose the 100 meters race
Others moderate but sure
They will take the 21km half marathon
Others less moderate but more certain
They will do the 42 km marathon?
What happens when one overestimates;
His speed and gets into the 100meters race?
His strength and joins the 21 km race?
His perseverance and joins the 42 km race?
But what happens when adrenalin malfunctions?
And one lies to himself that he’s an athlete
I would rather be sure am one
Then slow but sure do the 42 km marathon
Perhaps victory upon me would come, who knows?

Tears In My Eyes

Tears in my eyes will roll till the end of times
Pain in my heart shall persist for years and years
Something inside so strong shall always tell how wrong or right this is
Memories both good and bad shall surround me
Everything seems to communicate one simple but complex message
My wisdom or contrary fails me once again in life
Just as it did the moment I decided to give you all my love
I won’t play pool with my fellow gamblers
Neither shall I drink it over
The bottle to my head never to put
Neither the trigger to pull
Watching movies may seem less interesting but I still watch will
Jealousy characteristic of my proud self for once
But deep inside I feel it
Not in contempt but definitely no regrets at all
Something is well convinced and strong enough to have me so
Some pain is worth feeling
Some tears are worth shedding
Some jealous is better felt than the opposite
Some words are better left unsaid
Some things are better left undone
Now go in peace my little angel
Warm another man’s bed if warm you must
Be a shoulder for another man to lean on
If and only if he finds need and consolation there like I did
Tell him the sweet words you told him
And when he has sweet ones to tell you
Don’t be too proud to listen
At one time or the other he may make sense
Sense that will act as joy in sorrow
Just as some words you told me when I was down do
Make your way now little darling
Let the hold world know what you are made of
I know it’s not easy for you either
Just a little bit easier than it is for me perhaps
I won’t tell you to be strong because strong I aint yet
Before I wet the paper on which I write with tears
Let mi gather the frail courage I have left
To say what I thought most impossible
To say what is most against my heart but in line with my brain
As I officially let the tears roll their way down
GOOD BYE MY LOVE! GOOD BYE MY LOVE!

Back To Square One

It seems you’ve already made up your mind
Rescinded decisions is what u made of l see
Something you need to know pretty well
Before you single out your property and leave
That l got no compunctions at all for the path l took
I won’t even curse the day l met u
Neither shall l even consider forgetting
The very moment when love got sour
But cherish l will the moments we had
Some of those we held too dear
I hope you'll get the compulsory ingredient 4 your recipe
Cope, cope and cope
Cope with your life devoid of me
Cope with your sleep without my arms around you
Cope with your sorrows without me for consolation
Cope with your joys without me to give it the life it takes
I guess you got a message for me
The bells already ring loudly with clarity
To remind me that my time is over
Back to the drawing board l have to return it seems
Now club Monaco awaits me
To hit the pool balls one at a time
As l swallow one, two or more for the road
As l premeditate ma life without you
And get back as you sent mi.....
TO SQUARE ONE!!

Me and You

The clarity crystal
The fear inside deep concealed
The little courage gathered and enhanced by company to seem just sufficient,
Or did u but forget my plead moments ago
That you abhor me not for my completion,
A battle well fought
The defense so spiteful
The offense so tactical
Or did you but forget my advice moments ago
That the unsurpassed defense is by offense,
Fooled me to your echelon of idiocy
But of course you beat me on experience
Hadn’t l ever argued with you fool,
Or did l but overlook my own advice
That ‘never argue with a fool...........’
It seems l beat you in your own game
A dose of your own medicine per say
Delivered with precision, due care and professionalism,
Or did you but forget that "an archer without an arrow........
Had u consulted me before you mouthed
Mouthed and even chewed what u can’t swallow
Am remorseful if l hurt you because I never meant to
Just a tender but rigorous lesson
A little painful but more of unforgettable,
l now tell u hoping that u won’t but forget
"A fool dies by his own bow n arrow"
I hope that’s not what you are
And that "a wise man beats his rivals by their own bows and arrows"
 That will be me!

Yes I Did

You say I didn’t treat you right
A thorn in your flesh you claim I was
And that less was the care you saw
I thought of blaming it on you
But on a second thought so not to

Had I listened to the voice of reason
That sought to be heard ages before
Had I softened my heart to logic
Can a broken kettle carry tea?
I’d have saved myself the embarrassment

And I am busy contemplating my past
Quite rhetorical is my question
But is there anyone to be blamed?
A passing glance I call that
And nature failed less in its course

Crucify me or perhaps convict
But a noble chance u would grant
A guest to my frail heart u can be
And whether or not you find some love
Bear me witness that care I did
Yes I did!

To Him My Dreams

I wrote my dreams on the sand
The floods came and washed them away
I wrote my dreams on a rock
Erosion buried them deep beneath
I wrote my dreams in the oceans
Not realizing how big it was
Only later I could not trace them
I trusted my dreams on my loved ones
Too bad they forgot
I went ahead and tried my enemies
You guessed right because crashed they did
I hid my dreams beneath my heart
Confided solely and fearlessly to Him
He never disappointed didn’t you guess

No Hard Feelings

I appreciate what you feel,
You ate my cake,
Rode my horse,
Wore my shoe,
Scratched my back,
Lay on my bed,
Sipped my drink then spat in it,
Exposed ma treasure,
Drove my car,
And even messed my couch,
I got no hard feelings for you,
So don’t be shy my love,
Come let’s bake another cake
And hide another treasure
And perhaps order another drink,
My love, l got no hard feelings,
Just a little pain in my heart,
A slight frown on my face
And just few teardrops from my eyes,
 But don’t mind my love,
Am just a little too frail,
A little too emotional,
A little too caring
And just a little too loving.
So come on sit with my around my table
Because I bear no grudge
And no hard feelings at all
