Freed

Through my eyes, he sees his true self
and is disgusted by what he sees
Citing vulgar obscenities one moment
and then the next desperate pleas

He knows he is morally wrong
and that I could never forgive
He compromised my health!
Now with himself he has to live

Integrity he has not a ounce
Compulsive liar, I found out!
Was he born without a conscience?
To intentionally hurt, a heart he is without!

I'm glad that I found out what he's about
He would have sent me to an early grave
I know karma will one day find him
and he will get back all that he gave

My guardian angel guided me
Showed me what I failed to see
All my nagging doubts have been answered
I finally found the truth to set me free.

This is a true, sad story. But I am sure that after found freedom there will be room for trying to help the one who compromised your health, otherwise you cannot be completely happy!

Oh...so sorry you had to suffer abuse, my dear....to the point of your health being compromised...how terrible. Those who abuse often act out in the only way they know because thet have been abused themselves and carry baggage. They need professional help to alsi he set free. Since this is for a contest...can I point out a spelling mistake which often others correct me on???? I believe you meant conscience....knowing of right and wrong. Thanks for your visits to my work. They bring me joy!!!!

I am SO glad you got a guardian angel to get you away from that monster. I remember stuff you told me from before. Good for you, sweetie and I really like how you made a story poem out of the experience. Should do well in the contest.
