He Is My Night Light

shadows
that foolishly
whisper to me
in the darkness
desire for fearful
thoughts to accrue
in my mind -

Unafraid... I belong not to the night.
I lie there apathetic towards them,
Protected by the Lord’s light.
I feel nothing but His peace,
As my dreams start their flight.
