A Dance of Ice and Fire

Winter and Summer
Polar opposites
Yet similarly harsh

Winter and Summer
One burns white hot as fire
One burns cold as ice

Winter and Summer
Once deadly foes
Now with fierce respect for the other

Winter and Summer
The embers of her ebony heart
Belong to him

Winter and Summer
The fractured pieces of his heart
Have thawed in her presence

Winter and Summer
Together untouchable
An indestructible partnership

A Blizzard Calls

Sometimes I lie in bed at night,
And listen to the sound,
Of the sweet silence cradling me,
For to it I am truly bound.

But sometimes as I lie awake,
Silence leaves and does not stay,
And the calls and whispers keep me up,
Of a blizzard cold and grey.

It sounds so lonely outside,
I want to wish it well,
Tell it everything will be okay,
Remove it's sorrow from whence it dwell.

I love my silence with all my heart,
Like a mother does her child,
But sometimes it does bring me joy,
To hear a blizzard call from outside.

An Angel Beckons

As I sank deep below the surface
I felt the water began to take me away
I struggled and clawed in an attempt to escape
But it's icy caress tightened and entrapped me

Still I struggled on
The merciless liquid never ceasing in it's attack
Until at last I felt the fight leave me
And I began to sink like a stone

But then I saw them around me
They were pure beauty and light
And I was entranced by their glorious music
That brought me back from the brink of despair

One came to me and sang
She sang with the voice of a deity
And she beckoned me closer to her
Her hand reached out, caressing my own

How could I refuse?
I moved towards her ignoring the darkening of my vision
I had run out of air but she was so breath-taking
That I followed her, for I did not need it.

I reached for her hand
I grasped it tight
And she pulled me upwards
And I broke the surface.

Anyone who asks me how I found my way out
I respond in the same way to each time
I say 'I was guided to the surface
By an Angel of the Lord.'

Moonlight's Song

As I opened my eyes,
And rose to my feet,
I noticed the moon,
Shining down upon me.

It tousled my hair,
Beams toying with chestnut strands,
And it sang to me,
A melancholy sound of delight.

I moved closer, entranced,
The moonlight drawing me in,
The sweet sounds of the night,
Everlastingly bright.

And Luna continued to sing,
Asking for my hand in a dance,
And we twirled and sang as one,
Till dawn broke, bringing sunlight.
