Rain

I hear the tapping of the rain
Empty feelings of regret and pain
The sky is stained with gray
My mind forms words I cannot say
Sadness creeping, I think of you
But you’re still lost, and I am too
Both wandering a land so dead
All the things we could’ve said
Words that were more than just for show
I’m falling, falling far below
The rain is steady, like the beat of a heart
I know there’s no such thing as a new start
The clouds are gray, forever gray
My mind is full, full with words I cannot say
