The Struggle Within

Keeping out the wind,
drowning out the roar,
running from this Avalanche,
knocking at my door.

The chains are getting tighter,
my blood will not last,
Shackled to my enemy,
my heart..it pulses fast.

Dripping, dropping, without stopping,
this body, can't take much more..
The few that I do let in,
use me, then throw me to the floor..

The beats are getting slower now.
The pain, is starting to subside..
Darkness, closing in on me,
my Demon, pulls me to the Great Divide.

Lethal Dosage

I think I took an overdose while sipping on a bottle,
took the pills and set my engine riding on full throttle.
My heart is beating faster, the drug is coursing thru my vein,
o woe is me, the lion that messed around and lost his mighty mane.

I've been strong, endured what many can't imagine,
and I never thought I'd have a point where I would turn my badge in.
you see, we all have a moment of heartache, pain and loss,
but it's what you do in those moments, that shows you who's your boss.

I refused to get pumped, maybe I should of used a knife,
now I'm laying on the floor begging god for my life.
I'm not a man of faith and I took so much I shouldn't be here today.
and now that I'm seeing clearer, this time I'm really gonna stay.

I am limping, still have a pretty nasty bruise,
but I will keep on walking, on this better path that I choose.

Anxiety

I have bad Anxiety, I get panic attacks,
And I know in life it's had many drawbacks,
but I can't help the way my mind works,
you might just have to accept all my quirks.
I care too much and I think to far,
It's like trying to follow a tree in a moving car.
Cursed am I, the one who is Omniscient,
You'd think my heart and soul would be sufficient.
My drum beats quicker with every outcome in my mind,
Sweat is dripping faster, my teeth starting to grind.
I try to keep my thoughts away but they consume my soul,
Every fiber of me begs, release me from this hole.
I try to change and have a hope that maybe one day you'll see,
My brain is wired differently and that's what makes me me.
