Dominique Ryan Poem
"come on, get your coat off, its bloody ten too"
not even eleven and there forming a que
"just a barmaid" thats what they say
service with a smile, expected all day
we are more than just pint pourers , were councillors too
we listen to it all, oh what we go through
"here you go thats £3;40"
"how bloody much?" sir its not 1940
we get the blame for the price of a pint
we have to clean the toilets, oh the shear delight
we love listening to you drunk moan of how you have it bad
while we are trying to multi task, serving your dad
when you whislte, shout, bang or wave your money
believe me babe you aint getting served in a hurry
when we dont know there names but we no them by drink
"come on you know him, half a mild, he stinks"
dont get me wrong its not all doom and gloom
we do have a laugh with a crowded room
serving two at once thinking your pro
then looking up and seeing no hope
4 deep at the bar making no eye contact
keepin your head down thats a fact
when all your buttons are pressed and your sweaty too boot
when all all want to do is put the drunks on mute
when you see that one walk in whose fussy as f&@£
all the staff fled, just my luck
fake smile cracks across my face
"usual Doris "full of grace
large glass, small wine, two cubes and soda
if i had a gun i think i would probably load her
we listen to stories of, cats funerals, shopping lists and worse
but if you dont listen you will get the barmaids curse
your name will be rotten about the town
of how you arent pleasant and wear a frown
they think were arsed but really we are
were just a helping hand from across the bar
we like a good laugh and banter is fun
sometimes rude, excuse the pun
we have our yocal locals who we love and think are ok
but its still nice to say "Tarra" after theyve been in all day
weve got
pat with a bitter, a cider shandy if pissed
ste on coors light showing his fist
fran on gin, vodka or red
dom on anything, its time for bed
jenny on bacardi and diet coke
kyrin on spiced rum and abit of a toke
the other corinne on rosay until she can walk no more
dave hardwood on whiskey until he falls to the floor
margie on brandy and a drop of lemo
amie on different things the alcohol pro
lyndsey drinking fruit-bowels like its going out of fashion
jordan on shots like its his passion
then there is the two lovely barb and kipper
we do like him because hes a good tipper
so from us "just barmaids" please know our worth
we our here for You, we are the salt of the earth

Dominique Ryan Poem
She stood in the mirror facing her reflection
She hated herself and wanted perfection
Nobody cares that beauty's from within
Thousands spent on surgery just to fit in
Thin is beautiful that's what she thought
Models were tall unattractive was short
Nobody now sees personality shining through
Implants and Botox is not the real you
We're all made different we are unique in different ways
Now we are becoming more alike because of what society says

Dominique Ryan Poem
Tied up in chains and fear
I want my mummy as she shed a tear
Only three years of age and in her own
At the bottom of the ship wanting to go home
Up for auction that very next day
She couldn't understand a word they would say
Sold to the man at the back of the crowd
Who came to greet her grinning and proud
The stranger grabbed her hand leading the way
To were she would be working night and day
When she was exhausted and could work no more
She would get a whipping and fall to the floor
A year past and still know sign of mum
But she still had faith praying she would come
Her body so small in pain you could tell
All this torture it felt like hell
The hatred she felt sadness in her heart
She just wanted her mummy and not to be apart
Still she stayed strong through her nightmare days
She thought all this horror may just be a phase
So thin she was no food for her
She realised how life could be so unfair
Because they thought she was different black was her skin
But she new the nasty men were living in sin
She had had enough it was time to say goodbye
She new her mummy would be waiting in the sky
She closed her eyes and imagined mummy's face
Knowing she was going to a much happier place

Dominique Ryan Poem
A woman so strong with no mum of her own
Who grew independently battled alone
Raised 3 beautiful kids and shined a light on there's
Liked after them always nan always cared
Worked all day and lead a good happy life
Then Mother Nature struck with a gruelling blunt knife
She forgot some things that's we take for granted each day
But she still always loved and had time to pray
A woman that was strict and proud
Become terrified and lost at the back of the crowd
Looking fragile. Small and fright in her eyes
Not knowing what tomorro had to lie
Breaking my heart to see a beautiful soul this way
And still she would try laughing each day
As much as it sounds selfish Indeed
I'm glad she is happy in her daydreams
Every day is her memories that will long last
No horrors of the present just smiles from the past
As long as she has comfort knowing I'm here
My heart will no longer fear

Dominique Ryan Poem
in nineteen twelve at twelve o clock
people were out in crowds dressed in their favourite frock
as titanic was sailing to sea
half our city went including me
as we all aboard we waved goodbye
the captain then shouted lets untie
the ropes were off the ship and we were moving as the waves were tossing around us
one night when we was in the middle of the sea
my friends and i went out for tea
that night i got settled and comfy in my cabin
shortly after i was awoken with a man shouting Madam
we have hit an iceberg so get to the life boats
and dress very warmly in nice big coats
to my horro the ship was sinking on one side
and as i turned i couldnt believe my eyes
the life boats were tested with seventy men
and only twelve people were leaving on them
the iceberg huge towering over us i cried
it was like hell to look at crashing into us with pride
the sea was on the ship ice cold it came rushing past
everyone trying to escape everyone running fast
it caught up with me so i closed me eyes and held my breath
getting ready for my cold, breathless death
until a man grabbed me to saftey and hurled me onto a lifeboat
with all the shock and fear i had a lump in my throat
the lump of fear went to my stomach and rolled into a ball trying to explode
but it came out of my eyes running like a tap
but i had to be strong for the lost child on my lap
we were far away from the ship at last
all that watching and waiting fifteen minutes past
it was nearly gone
the ship of dreams turned into misery will be at the bottom of the sea
but people said it was unsinkable how could this be
all we could hear and see
was people jumping off the ship into a freezing cold sea
it was snapped in half like the bones in my foot
i looked around every one distraught and cut
this will be the last of the titanic
and all those confused souls we seen panic
sucking them under
it was like the biggest roar of thunder
now titanic is the floor of the sea
dead as can be
it lies there still and quiet
you was hopes and dreams for everyone
but now your at the bottom of the world
you havent saw daylight for years
and i always wander if the sea is made up of all your tears

Dominique Ryan Poem
see the thing is what he does
is try to show me some tough love
im like a tiger in the fields
and im starving for a meal
im going to to catch you watch me boy
im going to catch you watch me destroy
ive got my scars and ive earned my stripes
im going to make you mine right through the night
hes my tiger and im the prey
he likes to protect me night and day
hes my tiger with looks that could kill
with a deep roar and a powerful thrill
watch my paws im not gonna claw
i want to stroke your face i like to chase
he purrs louder as we touch nose to nose
feel safe in his arms when he doesnt let go
can see domination in his eyes
he knows im his and that he is mine
my tiger man

Dominique Ryan Poem
Longing to cradle
Another appointment
Another nurse
Another blood test
This ain't the first
Another gown
Another scan
Another tear
This wasn't the plan
Another tablet
Another needle
Another fake smile
Hiding the pain I feel
Another heart broke
Another tear shed
Another "let's keep going"
But I just hide in my bed
Another fresh day
Another prayer to keep strong
Another baby embryo unfrozen
To be put back were it belongs
My baby I'll wait for as long as it takes
With you in my arms there will be no more heartbreaks

Dominique Ryan Poem
ive got so much inside see me and let me be
ive got nothing to hide let me be free
dont you drown me in negativity
black mirror sees my face and im so scared
it knows my soul and my heart hurts
it knows i didnt have a care when you were there
black mirror shes the dark thats clinging on
it knows i cant move on or carry on or be strong with out you
ive got worries and woes and long lost goals
ive got dreams still dreaming and tears still streaming
dont you stop my smile from beaming
i cant look. black mirror

Dominique Ryan Poem
so little you can not see
but they have more power than you or me
they have fairy star dust and twinkling wings
they like to get up to mischievous things
they love to smile, they love to play
and help you blow your troubles away
they are happy to have a friend in you
because you believe that they are true
the will sit on a flower during the day
they will sleep on the starts when the sun goes away
they love bright colours and soft fruity smells
there tiny little shoes on the front have bells
they love the sound of waterfalls and flying in the sky
they love playing with each other and our defiantly not shy
i really do believe they are here
so more happy times than sad are shown more clear
