In the Still Silence

In the still silence I feel you breathing but you aren’t with me. 

I feel you holding me and you aren’t even next to me. 

I catch you staring at me but you haven’t even talked to me for weeks. 

In the still of the silence I lose my mind. 

I am wrapped up in delusion and tucked away with denial. 

Where are you? Where am I without you? Why am I without you? How am I without you? 

I cannot be without you. 

But here in the stillness I lay awake, undeniably, disagreeably, silently without you.
