Francis Jacobs Poem
I want nothing more
Than to hear you speak
If not daily
Then once a week
On the phone
Or face to face
I just want
to hear you say
Hey how are you?
I've missed you so much!
What have you been up to?
Shall we grab lunch?
It would mean a great deal
As I have missed so much
And I tried to reach out
But I've not had much luck
I got so sad
About this whole situation
I'm taking myself
Off on a vacation
But I'd so much prefer
To be somewhere with you
Let's walk in the park
And go to the zoo
So if you're reading this
I hope you know
There's a you shaped whole
Left in my soul.

Francis Jacobs Poem
I ploughed myself into a hazy dream
The depths of which I dared not leave
I did not then but now I see
The truths that stand before me
A cathartic cause that they undertook
That echos through the ages
Stories told by mystic men
Of queens and kings and sages
It’s time too pay the devils due
The pain inside me rages
I wrote my death into a book
It’s found within these pages

Francis Jacobs Poem
When a was just a wee lad,
When I was a young boy,
I had a friend called Michael
We played soldiers with our toys.
Michael he was Protestant,
And I was Catholic born,
There was divide between us
But friendship we had sworn,
"Don't be friends with them,
They are all the devils scum"
Said the lads at my school
They didn't like my chum.
Because of this I left a friend,
Never thought I'd see again,
Until I came face to face,
With Michael at a fence.
Now Michaels face was covered,
But I could see it in his eyes,
My presence in the Belfast streets,
Had Caught him with surprise.
As I'd embraced a rebels life
He'd joined the RUC,
And as we stood in Belfast's streets
His gun he aimed at me.
Michael, please remember,
we were once great friends,
We've known each other all our life
This isn't how it ends...
I'm sad to say this story
Is probably not alone
In friendships that were frozen
So hate could take the throne.
Enemies were once friends
But now we are all alone
In this empty graveyard, just a box full of bones.

Francis Jacobs Poem
She's got good confidence
that young girl
But she does not see
her self worth
She thinks her body
is her greatest asset
But she's wrong
And she'll get past it
As she grows
She soon will know
Her heart and soul
Are worth more than gold.

Francis Jacobs Poem
Come out with me tomorrow
And do the things we said we'd do
Let me make my words have a little truth
Empty promises I said I'd keep
And days of waiting past
Let me show you my little son
The world I think is mad
There's reasons I didn't take you
When I set off from home
How could I bring a sons corpse back filled with broken bones
War it is a scary thing and my son I pray for you
I hope that in your life time, about war you have no clue
Fire blood and violence
And natives always die
But by my own sons graveside I said I'd never lie
And that's the reason my young boy why you stayed at home
As your pappy and the other men stood next to old Wolfe Tone.
ONE THOUSAND YEARS OF FIGHTING
And still there will come more
This Ireland we all fight for better be worth the war
I've seen families torn apart
And old women cry
All in the name of freedom
And a clear silent night.

Francis Jacobs Poem
In war we must die
And just like that I
Took my last breath
Embraced my death
And closed my old weary eyes

Francis Jacobs Poem
The classy mans not rich,
The classy mans not poor,
The classy man knows his place
Opening that door;
He doesn't wear a suit
Or even drive a car
But the classy mans a good man
Cause he'll walk you through that park;
He smiles as he walks past
He offers you a grin
And if that glass is empty
He'll offer you some gin;
He even goes out walking
And tries to find the poor
He'll offer them some food to eat
And brings clothes out for them all;
Now when you see the classy man
Make sure you stop and say
Thank you for your good deeds
I hope you stay this way.
Not that he needs to hear
Any compliments from you
Because the classy mans a good man,
And It could be me and you!

Francis Jacobs Poem
I’m a unique specimen,
made of mescaline and ketamine.
And the last living resident,
of an intergalactic settlement.
Burnt to the ground,
by time travelling middlemen.
I came with the cannon,
aiming only to try and bury them.
And when I aim for their president,
I will not miss my friend.
Now I’ve done the job,
I will disappear again.
Like the last living remanence,
of a long forgotten culture.
Disappeared too quickly,
picked at by the vultures.
Bones into dust,
Picked up by the wind.
And we never knew the story,
cause we’re never taught a thing.
Meet the psychedelic poet,
trying to live stoic.
He’s earmarked for death,
and he doesn’t even know it.
I’ve met alcoholic authors,
with bongs in their hands.
Staring out of the windows,
cause they’re awfully prang.
I remember nights doing pipes,
but now my mind is sober.
But eternally restless,
seeking some final closure.
The makeshift king,
searching for the evidence.
I am seeking refuge
And my mind needs the medicine.

Francis Jacobs Poem
On a foggy Easter morn
I saw some men with guns
marching in the dawn
I followed the to Dublin town
Upto the GPO,
I thought they would rob it
But they let civilians go
WE PROCLAIM A REPUBLIC
I heard one man cry
I knew these were martyrs
For Ireland'sake they died.
Not only at the GPO,
But across this lovely land
There were many people of '16
Who gladly took that stand.
Men women and children
all played their part.
Today we say thank you,
let the rebel music start!

Francis Jacobs Poem
An open eye; it see's me cry.
A broken soul; that let's me go
day by day, as time flies by,
my dreams, my hope's, they seem to die.
all is lost, and time flies by,
my dreams my hopes they've all but died.
but I say to you today
please dont leave me, dont go away.
your love is life to my dying soul,
how I wish we grow old,
together forever you and me
its how I long my life to be.
