The Rising

100 years ago On a foggy Easter morn I saw some men with guns marching in the dawn I followed the to Dublin town Upto the GPO, I thought they would rob it But they let civilians go WE PROCLAIM A REPUBLIC I heard one man cry I knew these were martyrs For Ireland'sake they died. Not only at the GPO, But across this lovely land There were many people of '16 Who gladly took that stand. Men women and children all played their part. Today we say thank you, let the rebel music start!
