Equality

People think actions speak louder than words. They are right in certain occasions, but sometimes words hurt more than they think. Words harm feelings as much as cats harm mice.
Many people think it’s wrong to be different, that being normal is whatever they are. They bully, tease, harass, or have no respect for people who are different. They start arguments about it, but when they get called out on it, they say we should keep our differences to ourselves.
You should be proud to be yourself. You shouldn’t be afraid to be yourself. Walk around with your back straight, head high. If they call you a name, say something back, but not rude. Say “thanks” or “I know I am.” Don’t let them have fun being nasty. If they get a kick from making you feel insignificant, then they are the kind of people who will grow and get a job making others feel bad.
If you are a girl, and you walk down the hall hand in hand with a girl, you are considered a lesbian, even if you are bisexual. The same goes for guys, but with ruder names. It is their opinion to like who they like. They shouldn’t be forced to do anything but what they like. You should be able to walk with your partner with pride, not shame.
Does it make you feel better to judge someone because they aren’t afraid to be their self? Yeah, it’s your own opinion, and your choice not to like it, but it isn’t ok to judge someone. They should feel proud of who they are. Think about it. How would you feel?

Love's To-Do List

If you absolutely love somebody,
you’ve got to be able to let them go,
or wait until the time is right.
Don’t rush through things.

If they love you back,
they’ll understand.
If they don’t,
there’s no point waiting for fake love.

Maybe you just need to slow down,
and let Prince Charming sweep you off your feet.
Maybe you need to be patient,
and let time take its toll.

Sometimes it happens too late,
and they get pushed out of the picture.
Sometimes it happens too early,
and things don’t go according to plan.

But no matter what,
love who you want,
wait when you want,
but don’t push things.

It makes everything more complicated.

Jealousy

Yes, I am jealous.
I am jealous of others,
of their happiness,
their beauty,
their perfections,
their freedom.
I want what they have.
To feel good,
to feel happy,
to feel loved.
Yes, I have family.
Yes, they love me.
But I want what they have.
I want someone to love me,
to hold me,
to kiss me.
To make me feel special.
But all I get is jokes.
The love they give me is rotten,
disgusting,
wrong.
I have to push them away.
Most people have perfect love,
they feel happy,
they feel special.
I don’t,
I don’t think I ever will feel like that.
So, yes.
I am jealous.

What Hurts

What hurts is when your best friend ditches you, and you are the one who gets yelled at
What hurts is when a guy you like is too busy with video games or silly little quotes
What hurts is when two guys who are your best friends love you, and all you feel is the love of your friendship
What hurts is having a sister who hates your guts, lies to get you in trouble, embarrasses you in front of her bubblegum friends, and picks fights
What hurts is having friends who care about how you feel
What hurts is knowing you can’t give up, no matter how hard you try
What hurts is that you are reading this and either don’t care, or are pitying me
What hurts is hating the kid next to you because he is a troublemaker and ruins your fun
What hurts is avoiding a kid because he smells bad
What hurts is not being able to tell your parents your deepest, darkest secret
What hurts is thinking of how school sucks and how you just wanna quit
What hurts is that I’m writing this
What hurts is that I don’t care

My Heart

My heart is like a lonely sparrow;
Darting to one potential ‘mate’,
But leaving before getting comfortable.
Never happy with whom it finds.

But when I first laid eyes on you,
my heart learned how to be still,
how to expand my love to one being.
You.

My heart learned how to be like a cat,
never letting go;
my love never wandering.
Never faltering.
When you took my heart and abused,
toying with it ‘til you bored,
throwing it away like a rag doll.
I shrank to a mouse.

I felt smaller,
and vulnerable,
feeling I could be swept away with the wind.
I felt so fragile.

I gradually learned how to be brave.
Alert, and cautious.
But something else changed.
I learned how it was to be without feeling.

A heart can mislead you,
use you.
Take away your feelings.
It could hurt you.

I learned to judge my heart first.
And this time,
my heart and mind,
say I can love you.

You can’t hurt me.

Confused

I am confused
When I say I’m OK, but I’m not,
people leave me alone.
When I finally say how I’m feeling,
I get ignored.
When I most need a friend,
they are nowhere to be seen.
When I want to be left alone,
they are flocked by my side.
When I am with someone,
they say they love me,
but then they cheat on me,
or let me go.
They say I’m nice,
 but I don’t feel like I am.
They say I’m cute,
but I don’t believe it.
I ask for the wrong kind of attention.
Never finding actual love,
I go and find a substitute.
It’s wrong, but I need someone to pretend,
to pretend they care for me,
to pretend I matter.
But something’s eating at my mind.
Why?
Why me? Why now?
Why can’t I be something else.
Something that I can be proud of.
Right now I am disgusted with myself.
What do I do?
I am so confused.
I need help.
