Equality

People think actions speak louder than words. They are right in certain occasions, but sometimes words hurt more than they think. Words harm feelings as much as cats harm mice. Many people think it’s wrong to be different, that being normal is whatever they are. They bully, tease, harass, or have no respect for people who are different. They start arguments about it, but when they get called out on it, they say we should keep our differences to ourselves. You should be proud to be yourself. You shouldn’t be afraid to be yourself. Walk around with your back straight, head high. If they call you a name, say something back, but not rude. Say “thanks” or “I know I am.” Don’t let them have fun being nasty. If they get a kick from making you feel insignificant, then they are the kind of people who will grow and get a job making others feel bad. If you are a girl, and you walk down the hall hand in hand with a girl, you are considered a lesbian, even if you are bisexual. The same goes for guys, but with ruder names. It is their opinion to like who they like. They shouldn’t be forced to do anything but what they like. You should be able to walk with your partner with pride, not shame. Does it make you feel better to judge someone because they aren’t afraid to be their self? Yeah, it’s your own opinion, and your choice not to like it, but it isn’t ok to judge someone. They should feel proud of who they are. Think about it. How would you feel?
