I'M Cynical of Polly

She walks with pride,
Maybe she thinks of herself as queen.
It can happen with time,
Her mind plays a wicked game.
But nonetheless, I’m cynical of Polly.

With every click and flash she gives a sly smile,
Doesn’t anyone else notice?
Am I getting a wrong picture?
But then she winks at me.
She makes me mad, I’m cynical of Polly.

As the press pries prudently into Polly,
She rejects their questions with her steely eyes.
Head held so high, she can’t see it,
People cry in despair, doesn’t reach her ear.
She just doesn’t care, oh, I’m cynical of Polly!

All she knows is her precious votes,
Counting them on her fingers “One, two, three….”
Flings her purse, strides down the stairs,
Her heels ready to crush some souls.
She is evil in disguise. Damn right, I’m cynical of Polly.

The rich bow down to her, she has that aura,
I despise her but I envy her.
To have that power, I would go mad too,
Won’t I just do anything to be in her shoes?
She dazzles me yet I’m cynical of Polly.

We Are the Brightest Stars Among All Gods Creations:Answer Me

I watch the gleam of those sparkling eyes
And wheeze through the freedom of the open skies
Her fascination
In imagination
Is like a hypnotizing charm of a born magician

I am wide awake over the Earth’s blanket of grass
Then open my hands to spread my magic like shattering glass
I embrace your desire
To ignite the fire
And soon I’m discovered in the lands of Myre

Gather yourself up and find peace in his kingdom
For God, he reigns us with his love and wisdom
When bound
I found
The joy in his world, all around

You stand there at distance in poise motionless
And sigh heavily with no words to express
Your agony
Snging melancholy
Longing to be free and get a taste of my liberty;

If only we can learn to cherish the beauty within us
Like finding mysterious truths in a book anonymous!

Being Invisible

Here I am, sitting in front of my computer,
Figuring out a better way to finish my work sooner
When suddenly, I turn around,
Only with a hopeless longing to be found

I get up and walk around, but alas, unnoticed,
I desperately run to my friends, I believe to be closest
They look at me, or right through me?
I feel soulless…its just the beginning of invisibility.

I am so alone, while standing in this crowd,
My voice is unheard even when I cry out loud.
There is a fear inside me, its really scary,
Its crawling like a spider, oh! It has got me!

Being invisible is painful,
It is slowly crushing me.
I am trapped beneath it,
Will someone ever discover me?

Entangled

Feeling stuck, like tangled in a web,
Waiting for someone to help me out
Heaviness in heart, scared to death,
Will I ever be able to come out?

People can help but do I dare to ask,
Something whimpering inside me,
A little girl, afraid of the dark,
Praying for a light to come and guide me.

Here I am, holding out my hand,
Feeling around for that one touch
But its slipping away like the sand,
Maybe I am asking for way too much

Will you be there at the end of this road?
Will you be there when I come out?
Will you be there when no one’s there?
Still feeling stuck, like tangled in a web,
Waiting for someone to help me out.

To Mothers Everywhere

This is an ode to the Mothers all around,
They are the queens who have never been crowned
For all their hard work, for all their love,
They are the angels sent from above!

On our first day, tears rolled down your cheeks,
You said we are God’s miracle, for which you waited long weeks
You embraced us with love even as we pulled your hair,
The joy we felt in your arms will always be beyond compare!

When your eyes twinkled at our first step,
We just wanted to run into your arms with every footstep
When our first word became your favorite verse,
We wanted to mumble on the same, as if they were magic words!

When you sat on the table, scratching your head,
As you worked on ‘our’ project, which we haven’t even read :P
You became our idol, our mentor, our guide,
“Learn to do your work yourself”, you said sternly! Then added, “Only this time I’ll let it slip”, with a smile wide ?

Then we got the new toys, only those were new gadgets,
You worried about us, as they were working like magnets
You worked upon us with a tender-heart,
To bring us on the right track, you had to work really hard!

Then we said we have found the love of our dreams,
You taught us life lessons, as life…it may not be as it seems
But when you were content with our decision,
You were ready to spread more love & celebrate the occasion!

Through all our life, you have always been there,
When we turn around for help, we are always in your prayer
We may not say it everyday but you mean the world to us,
You are our No.1, there’s nothing to discuss!

I could go on and on, thanking you all for everything,
But I am sure you’ll understand, if I don’t go on and sing
There can never be an end when it comes to praising you,
It’s like painting a never ending rainbow, in the sky so blue!

So everyone,
Let’s come together
To tell our Mothers,
We love them forever!

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, Ma!!

Seasonal Color

SHADES OF LOVE
Under the cerulean blues,
Walked the girl in her coral shoes.
Wrapped in shades of tangerine,
Her neck glowed with sparkling aquamarine.
Carrying the green chartreuse in her basket,
She walks on the lemon grass towards his casket.
As the saffron hat blows in the wind,
She carries the lilac remembering the time they were ringed.
The scent of her lavender oil swirled around her,
Giving the memories of them together a stir.
“Don’t you be sad & wear black, my sweetie”,
Last night he said in her dream, drinking a watermelon smoothie.

What Is Love

Love..what is love?

Was it love when you looked at me for the first time,
And I was lost in your gaze?

Was it love when you talked to me for the first time,
And I felt I could listen to you for days?

Was it love when you laughed at my childish behavior,
And I thought I could be a kid for you forever?

Was it love when you fell sick,
And I instantly became a doctor?

Was it love when you shared a secret with me,
And I thought I would guard and protect it with my life?

Was it love when you called me up at night,
To let out your frustration…your anger,
And I was thrilled to feel that I have so much importance in your life?

Was it love when you first held my hand,
And I felt that I have tied a knot which cannot be undone?
Was it love when you slipped your hand around my waist,
And pulled me towards you…so close to you,
And I felt my heart stop, like time had frozen?

Was it love when I first felt your lips on mine,
And I couldn’t help but think if it’s for real?

Was it love when I saw you go away,
And I felt a part of me broken…wounded…was it ideal?

Is it love when I wish to talk to you every second?
Is it love when I miss every moment we spent together?
Is it love when I feel that you being with me is all that I want now?
Is it love when I miss you with each and every heartbeat of mine?

I wish I knew what love really means,
I want to call you my love, that’s what my heart feels,
So love.. I ask you,
Love….what is love?

Twisted Love

He was small,
She stared at the wall.
His talks were pretend,
She wondered when would all this end.
I could see in their eyes,
They were so full of lies.
He asked,” What would you like to drink?”
“ Whisky. On the rocks”, she replied with a grin.
“I thought you were a sophisticated lady!”, he said
Her eyes widened, face flushed red.
I think I leaned too much to hear her reply
Coz she turned sharply and glared at me right in the eye.
I went back to drinking my soup,
She turned to him slowly and planned her next move.
Smiling she said, “If I am still sitting with you is because I am a sophisticated lady“,
He grinded his teeth, this was turning ugly.
“Girls like you should be tamed well,” he scowled,
She got up, walked towards him slowly,
A slap on his face and she was done.
This was a bizarre day for me,
To have witnessed the ugly end of a twisted love story.
