Laura Giles Poem
Conflicted and smothered by lies
She and others have told
Ugliness bleeds out of the pores
Of her meaningless soul
Instead of looking at something authentive
She only sees a monster who feasts upon fears
She's shamed by her true reflection
Each time she gazes upon the mirror
She's been hiding inside her costume
Made of human flesh
Built by four walls of emptiness
-Too strong to be broken, yet too delicate to even exist
Now, as she's sinking into a state of depression,
She tries to fight and just hold on
But she's worried she's been living in her flesh
For far too long
Still, her whispers linger
In the winds of the chilling air
That maybe -just maybe,
Someday, someone might actually WANT to care!!!
