Do You Remember Daddy

Do you remember daddy,
Sitting with me when I had a nightmare?
You would soothe me and help me to
Understand what was real
And what wasn't even there.
Do you remember daddy,
How I scraped my knee and you would
Wipe away the hurt?
You would kiss the pain away and
Wipe away the dirt.
Do you remember daddy,
The love that was shared to all
Those who even dared?
Do you remember daddy,
Those three simple words say
More than a father could ever know?
Saying these words would soothe
Even the youngest doe.
Do you remember daddy,
The daughter that loves you
More than anything?
I always have and I always will,
I shall follow you on your strongest wing.
Do you remember daddy,
Every wish that was made to the candles
On every birthday cake?
Well I have one wish left to make.....
Happy Father's Day Daddy!!!

Good Night

Bedtime now that all is asleep in my home
Goodnight from the walker dome.

I pray your dreams are pleasant and fair
That you flow on a cloud through the air.

Dreaming big and of those better days
Looking forwards to catching those sunny rays.

May peace find you home asleep tonight
And wake you with dawns early light

Love to all my family and friends as I slowly fall asleep
Knowing I'm grumpy when the kids start to creep

Slowly drifting so goodnight and sweet dreams
I shall dream of writing until I rip open the seams

Left Behind

Left behind in a cloud of dust
Her starts pounding and feels like it might bust
She holds his hand to guide her way
For the cancer weakened her more on the last day

Wandering towards their rooms to kiss their heads
She gently watches them sleep in their beds

Her heart soars as the memories start floating in
Reminding her of the love that must have been

Left behind in a world so chaotic and cruel
She taught them to be no ones fool

Loving all she comes to see
Teaching them prayers of the God Almighty

Left behind a legacy of the fighter she became
Knowing that life without her wont be the same

The last days are drawing to a close
As they touch each other forehead and nose

I love you are said
And she is placed back in her bed

Drawing the last breath and leaving her body behind
She was their hero, truly a rare find
