Do You Remember Daddy

Do you remember daddy, Sitting with me when I had a nightmare? You would soothe me and help me to Understand what was real And what wasn't even there. Do you remember daddy, How I scraped my knee and you would Wipe away the hurt? You would kiss the pain away and Wipe away the dirt. Do you remember daddy, The love that was shared to all Those who even dared? Do you remember daddy, Those three simple words say More than a father could ever know? Saying these words would soothe Even the youngest doe. Do you remember daddy, The daughter that loves you More than anything? I always have and I always will, I shall follow you on your strongest wing. Do you remember daddy, Every wish that was made to the candles On every birthday cake? Well I have one wish left to make..... Happy Father's Day Daddy!!!

Ren. Thank you. I wrote this after highschool. My father is my hero as he was a military sergeant for the National guard up until three years ago April. He is now retired working as a security guard. Crystal

Crystal, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@

Linda Thank you for the warm welcome. I am mostly a rhyming poet and I don't know what most of them would be considered . I have over two hundred poems based on my life, my children and things I have experienced. I love to write and have started working towards publishing four books so far. I write poems for friends and family as a hobby. Thank you.
