Masterpiece

I apologize to no one
For me being me
I stand strong in my convictions
I wear them with pride

Far to long in my life
I tried to fit in
The pieces of humanity's jigsaw
Were obscure and jagged

They bent and they broke me
They meshed not well at all
In the end of the puzzle
It looked like a big messy blur

I was born to be original
One of a kind
To become a copycat
Would be mockery of God

Not everyone will like me
That is quite alright
Like fine wine it takes ages
Before it tastes right

I'm still a work in progress
A masterpiece yet to be designed
One day i'll find my place in the world
There i'll hang on the wall, shining in all my glory

Cleanse Me

I want to take a shower
Not the kind with shampoos or soaps
I want to get soaking wet
With your passion and your sweat
I've been thinking of you all day long
I had to touch myself
Now that you're in my sights
I could really use your help....

When we are done
Are nice and clean
It's into your arms I go
So I can safely dream.....

It Takes a Village

We are the neighbors
Who live down your street
We are the ones
Who your kids love to hate

We are the ones who actually sit outside
Watching our children while they are at play
Making sure all of the children
On the street are behaved

To many drive-bys by gangs
Over drugs and money and loot
Never caring before firing
They just load up their guns and they shoot

Sexual offenders on every block
Hiding behind their closed doors
They're watching and waiting
For their next victim to lure

They say it takes a village to raise a child
That's why we must all protect every one
Despite of our color, religions, or political views
We must come together, stop looking for an excuse

I watch after your children while you are away
I'm hoping as a parent for me you'd do the same
We'll never always see eye to eye it's the truth
But the protection of the children should always be first

So when your kids run to you saying I was mean
Just know they were up to trouble hoping it unseen
I spotted it and stopped it before a disaster could strike
Because as a parent, I'd save any child's life

My Peaceful Place

I close my eyes
Drift away
To another time
Some other day
I'm walking through the forrest
Looking up between the trees
The sun is cutting through the leaves
Warming my head with her beams
I'm fully alive
I'm breathing fine
All in my world at peace
The further that I walk along
It slowly becomes more steep
The ground starts becoming rocks
No longer dirt beneath my feet
I know somehow
At the top of this is more beauty to be seen
I continue upward
Wayward
Making sure to not lose my foot
At last I'm at the top of it
What a sight to take in
A lovely flowing waterfall
Cleansing all of natures flaws
Just carrying them away
It truly is a peaceful place
This beautiful serene scene
A place to stop and take it in
Away from the chaos of everyday

Whats Your Story

When your days are numbered
When it's time to pass on
What will be your story
You'll choose to leave the world

Will you leave a romantic novel
With hero's and horses
Rescuing damsels in distress
Fixing hearts that are broken

Will your life be an adventure
Traveling far and abroad
Whether by air on a plane
Will you stretch your sea legs out

Maybe a horror story
Will be your demise
You tried everything to escape
But your soul it still died

Some choose comedy
It masks all the pain
They laugh and laugh
Leaving pleasure in stead

No matter your choosing
It's your life to tell
So do it with passion
Make sure that it sells

Ocean of Emotions

On this great big ocean
There is plenty of room for hope
Sitting on the shoreline
She has bottled hers up to float

One by one they vanish
As the waves push them away
She sits and waits so patiently
For even one single response

But the ocean has no secrets
It's only filled with bitter dreams
That's why it is so salty you know
From the millions of tears it's seen

Moonlight By the Sea

Let's go on a journey
Into the great unknown
Close your eyes and trust in me
Relax and let go

We're laying on a beach at night
Just you and me in bright moonlight
Stars are shooting across the sky
Landing wherever their hearts desire

Listen to the ocean waves
Crashing hard against the rocks
Slowly receeding without a thought
Keeping rhythm, natures dance

The air has a slight chill
Making our skin cool
That's when we must embrace
To keep each other warm

We look into each other's eyes
Getting lost in each others glance
The rest of the universe doesn't matter
Momentarily it does not exist

I pull you in so closely
You shyly pull away
I lay a kiss upon your lips
Suddenly I'm awake

Was this as real as it felt
Or was it just a dream
Either way it felt so good
Having you there with me

Love Is Deaf Not Blind

To expect love is selfish
Though being human it is so
To love means to give to others
Putting all their needs above

To open up to love shows courage
A vulnerability which each person masks
So they won't have to defend themselves
When the other person holds or pulls back

To simply say you love someone
It just is not enough
You must prove the words you say
For love is truly deaf

Love is an action
It's something that you do
Taking care of anothers heart
Before you do yours

I do not believe love is blind
For you're able to see into their souls
To love them truly
You must also choose to love all of their flaws

If you ever have the privilege
If someone allows you inside
Tend to it often
So the love never dies

The Day In the Life of Me

Six a.m. the alarm click has rung
Time to wake up, time to start being mom
Wake up children
Get dressed, brush your teeth
We haven't a moment to lose
Time to start moving those feet
Jump in the mini-van
Start the engine up
Crap the windows are frosted
It must have dropped temperature
Below 0 again
Kids on the way out the front door
Their pop-tarts just dropped
On the mini-van floor
No need to worry
No need to fret
It looks like this morning
A bagged school breakfast you'll get
Kisses and I love yous
As we pull up to the school
All of this in an hour
My day is not through
Get to the house
Take out the dog
Make up a grocery list 15 feet long
Clean up the bathroom
Gross what's that on the wall
Some disinfected will kill it all
Hubby is home, he's came for lunch
Griping about something to do with his work
Throw in the laundry
It has to smell good
Sit for a moment
Take in the views
Soon school will be over
That means homework and messes
Than dinner and baths
Oh I hate those stresses
All of this while trying
To balance being wife and sex kitten
Finally "WHEW" everybody's in bed
Time to lay down go to sleep
So tomorrow I can do
All this again

Old Friends

Just before the sun sets
On the ocean blue
The sun meets with his counter part
Her name is Mrs. Moon
She comes with all her children
The stars up in the sky
Every night when it's time for bed
They all sing sweet nighttime lullabies
Now Mrs. Moon and Mr. Sun
They hang around and chat awhile
Catching up on the gossip of the day
Than just like that, they part as friends
Shaking hands than scurrying on their ways
Now Mr. Sun he has a job, he now must go and do
To wake up the human beings who have been in bed
Tucked away by the stars and Mrs. Moon
It's an everyday occurrence
Just look up to the skies
You'll see the pleasantries
Being exchanged in front of Heavens eyes
