A vivid memory of childhood, overall one of the best Running to the TV, brimming with excitement and anticipation Waiting to find out, what will be today’s quest I lived for the man who taught us integrity, honor, and trust You could easily say I was beyond being obsessed I would be glued to the TV whether it was a rerun or new Just to meet him once, as a child my only request Many years passing, now a mother myself My childhood dream came and went unaddressed Now volunteering to help raise money for juvenile diabetes Unaware who is invited to the event as DOCS special guest All working diligently for the great cause at hand The big day is nearing, who’s invited now expressed Nervous and excited, I can’t believe what I am hearing My childhood dream coming true, I must be blessed Everything I had hoped for he exceeded with ease To meet him in real life, you could only be impressed So many years later, still touching so many lives Something very special, Dan Haggerty has always possessed I am honored to know him and have him in my life To have a friend in Grizzly Adams, never would I have guessed
