Love Again

Love Again

Life without love is an empty, lonely existence
Our birthright is to love and receive it without resistance
Pursuing this emotion like a mirage in the desert
Reflecting perceived notions left only to be hurt
Wide eyed loving innocence, oh what an oxymoron
Blinded by emotion and then the love is gone
Leaving the heart with scars that hopefully will heal
But at this very moment, pain is all you feel
With time, if you decide, to let go of the pain
Only then will your heart be open to love again

Elegance

Elegance

Elegance was spoken as she glided across the room
Weathered face not subtracting from her delicate beauty
She spoke with a confidence that made people notice
Who was she I wondered? I would love to be like that
Her dress flowed around her with glitter and jewels
Hair like golden weave that had been spun just for her
A face like an angel, grace must be her idol
I was in total awe as I stood there beside her
After her grand entrance, she just disappeared
Leaving a void in the room that she had just mirrored
Very few people, I thought, have that kind of impact
I found myself hoping that she would come back
But she didn’t grace us with her presence again
Had I created her image in my mind of wishful thinking

A Real Nightmare

A Real Nightmare
 [ edit ]
Out of the darkness a strange noise pierced the night
Looking frantically around me, preparing for flight
When above me a shadow, I attempted a scream
But no sound could I mutter, tears began to stream
I closed my eyes tightly then opened them again
Was this really happening or was I going insane?
I felt a cold chill as my legs turned to rubber
I was so scared all I could do was blubber
When I turned to run, there was something looming
Whatever this was, it definitely was not human
It's eyes were rolled back as it devoured it's victim
Blood all over his lips, as he deliberately licked them
My legs regained strength and through the woods I did tear
Only to awaken in bed from this horrible nightmare!

Racing Mind

Racing Mind

Innovative ideas ricochet through my mind
Artistic expression, poetry, thoughts of all kinds
Racing methodically, expressively, without cease
Need to get rest, relax and get sleep
ADD you say, maybe you are correct
However, great ideas, out of this head do eject
Emotions, frustrations I need to express
That is how I deal, put thoughts to the test
Constantly thinking, methodically accessing
Some say it’s a curse, but I say it’s a blessing
Only positive, constructive, thoughts will take shape
This mind of radical racing, times I’d like to escape
But for the most part it’s a gift I would not trade
It’s what makes me interesting, exciting, and paid!

Seasons

Seasons
Fall came abruptly with cool breeze and colorful leaves
Summer left behind us as confiscated by random thieves
Days getting shorter the darkness lingers long
Sun light in the distance like a sad forgotten song
Barren limbs of trees bowing down in shameful woe
Their nakedness becoming obvious as the winds begin to blow
Soon the snow will do its dance on the top of winter’s peak
Freezing all the lakes and ponds grey skies that sadly speak
Preparing us for what lies ahead when storms of ice surrender
The roots of summer’s roses bury deeper as they’re tender
Sleeping for the moment, but with spring’s warmth they’ll awaken
With all their splendor and former beauty their glory not shaken
The sun will take its rightful place and summer will rule as planned
Then the other three seasons, will follow suit and repeat it all again

Night On the Beach

Night On the Beach

Billowing waves of dark waters roll in, from the depths of the ocean so blue
Stars illuminating in dance with the moon, their bright lights shining through
The night winds blow a sad melody, through the trees that sleepily sway
Sand lies cold on the shore of the reef, waiting on the sun’s warming rays
Serenity and peace lay across the horizon as silence takes over the night
Sleeping crustaceans, birds sitting in rest, awaiting their long morning flight
What a beautiful sight, to see the sun, chasing away the clouds in the morning
Colors of beauty painting the sky and replacing the nights lonely scorning
